If people who create a project based off of Pokemon Essentials, if we use music from other franchises games or anime, do we have to mention/credit them?

Are you allowed to put in music from other games and anime in your Essentials game without giving credit? Do you even have to give credit?

Well using music from other games is no different from using Pokémon music. Giving credit isn't going to make a difference really but it might be a good idea to just tell the players what music you used.

Legally speaking, using music you don't have the rights to in your game is copyright infringement. Giving credit makes no difference. That said, there will probably be no consequences regardless of whether you give credit or not. Some people and companies will be more sympathetic towards your project if you do credit them though. I would give credit to the composer and/or games company, just because it's the nice thing to do and that way people can find what music you used in your game.
