Advice for the most simple tools to use?

    The beginner's directory said it's alright to ask for advice here. I'm only interested in doing graphical and music changes, not changing mechanics or anything in-depth like that, so what tool/s would be best for this? I want to work with Pokemon Crystal, by the way. Are there any decent video tutorials on doing it?
