Welcome to the Aeon League!


This league is a UCL Style League (https://unofficialucl.wordpress.com/) comprised of 16 teams, each of which has a different coach (Trainer). The teams are listed in the spoiler below

Each of these teams will be have 13 different Pokemon (one of which is a mega) who will be coached by one trainer.

The Battles:

The battles will follow most Smogon rules (https://www.smogon.com/dex/xy/formats/ou/), with the Coaches being able to vote on which rules they want to keep, which rules they want to add, or which rules they want to get rid of. (I understand not everyone likes Smogon rules, so I want to make it more fair to those that don't like it by giving them a chance to try and change some things.)

Anyone can participate as the battles will take place on XY/ORAS, and Pokemon Showdown

Each Tuesday and Thursday, the trainers will put themselves to the test and battle someone from another team. At the end of 16 games (eight weeks total), the playoffs will start, and the match ups will be determined by the teams standing in the regular season. The playoffs will occur in a bracket style that looks like this:

After the playoffs, the Pokemon on the teams will be released to the free agency to be picked again. Each team however is allowed one franchise pokemon. This Pokemon remains with the franchise for as long as they remain on the team. Once the franchise pokemon is picked. It cannot be changed until a trade is made with another team.

A pokemon draft will occur on a date which is to be decided after we have enough people. The draft will consist of 13 rounds. During these 13 rounds, teams can pick any pokemon that hasn't been drafted yet or that has not been banned. (A list of banned pokemon can be seen below).

Each team must have a minimum of 11 pokemon, and a maximum of 15 pokemon. This is to allow the flow of trades. A trade example that includes multiple pokemon and picks can be seen below.

After halfway through the season, 32 free agent pokemon will be announced and the teams are free to sign them as needed. However, each team will be given a certain amount of points. Each free agent will require a certain amount of points to be signed.

These Pokemon may not be used under ANY circumstances. Using these pokemon will result in an automatic loss. Repeated offenses will result in penalties such as your opponent choosing your next team, all pokemon being forced to hold a random item, next battle only being able to use 5 pokemon, etc.

As of now (8/14/16) We only have two coaches. Myself, and a friend of mine who we will call Gen 5 for the time being. We are looking for 14 other members to participate with us in this league. Since we don't have a basis, to go off of, the coaches will be picked based on first come first serve for the time being.

As a coach, you must make time for this league. The team is yours! Feel free to change the name, create a logo, change the city, have fun with it!. If you aren't battling when you're supposed to without advanced notice multiple times, penalties will be enacted. (Exceptions to this are things like oversleeping, unplanned trips with family, internet going down, etc.) You are allowed one battle where you do not show up or call ahead to reschedule the battle. If this occurs more than once, you will be kicked out of the league and a replacement will be found promptly. This league won't require too much time, and as such, penalties need to be enacted so that people do take it serious.

In theory, the league would only take up around 2 hours for your week on average (Depending on how long your battles take, two battles a week, so about 1 hour for battle). The exception to this would be the draft, and any other meetings that might occur.
