Alright, here I am, trying OU again because UU's been a bit slow for me. People play UU obviously, but not as many as I wished... anyways, here I am, trying for another Kanto/sometimes Johto-themed team. I'm not hyper competitive, so I also insist on using a Kanto starter and a few other things, but I still want a decent chance at winning. So, I've decided that a team that'll throw off enemies is a team that requires little-to-no set-up. I figured it'd be quite challenging to shrug off so many immediate threats.
I've had pretty good success with this team so far, but I don't mind taking more pointers :) Thanks in advance!

Orlando (Venusaur) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 56 HP/72 Atk/216 Spd/164 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Sludge Bomb
- Leaf Storm
- Earthquake
- Sleep Powder
Choice-Scarf'd Venusaur set. This makes a pretty good lead, as the only one that is able to do anything to it before Venusaur uses Sleep Powder are Fake-Out users (and other priority attackers, but they aren't very common on leads). Strategy is simple: use Sleep Powder, then switch out, usually to Scizor to scout the opponent's switch-in. Afterwards, it can switch in for additional Sleep-Powders and very decent STAB attacks. This thing is a little limited and predictable, but very useful nonetheless. Most people aren't prepared for a Scarf'd Venusaur right off the bat anyways.

Nrvnqsr (Tentacruel) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Grass]
This guy is the typical Utility set. While entry hazards haven't proven to be much of a threat to my team, they still do damage, so it's nice to have Rapid Spin. Toxic Spikes for nifty damage of my own (works well with Vaporeon's Roar). Sludge Bomb for STAB, HP Grass mostly for filler.

Kelly (Vaporeon) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 188 HP/252 Def/68 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Surf
- Roar
I love this thing. Not even grass attacks hit it terribly hard. Wish/Protect for self-healing, scouting and team support, Surf for STAB, Roar to remove any set-ups the opponent tries to do.

Sleeper (Hypno) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP/56 Def/200 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
- Light Screen
Okay, I hate pink special walls, and Hypno is pretty unknown. I've seen more than a few idiots try to use Sleep Powder on him, and that probably won't happen much as I get better, but Insomnia does provide me with someone that can switch in if for some reason I really don't want anybody sleeping. Seismic Toss for consistent damage, Thunder Wave because Toxic might be limited in use from Toxic Spikes and Hypnosis is outclassed by Venusaur's Sleep Powder. Wish for healing self and others. Light Screen for really useful special protection. I am willing to use others in Hypno's place, but I'd really rather it wasn't Blissey or Clefable (n00bish restriction here).

Balafer (Scizor) (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit
Choice-Band set. My physical powerhouse, in the early game it scouts with U-turn, I might get lucky and switch in to something weak to Pursuit, Bullet Punch for STAB priority and Superpower for potential physical walls and (if things look good) other Scizors. Not many things carry fire and grass/electric (although a few do, such as Zapdos and Infernape), so Vaporeon has proven to be a useful partner.

Victor (Jolteon) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Shadow Ball
- Baton Pass
This is my signature Pokemon, so any suggestions to remove this Pokemon will be ignored :P Anyways, this is the ever-popular Choice-Specs set. Funnily enough, I catch myself using HP Ice the vast majority of the time: for some reason, nobody realizes that after 2-3 HP Ice's, I will not use Thunderbolt unless I am sure there is nothing immune to it. Anyways, this thing is awesome.
So, there you have it. Yes, I am a major n00b, and I realize I might not get anywhere with all the useless restrictions I have, but I play this game first for fun, with victories being a happy side-effect. Like I've said though, I have had pretty good success so far, so this team isn't extremely flawed apparently. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and all help is greatly appreciated :)
