    Okay, we all know that shinies are very rare and valuable and all.
    But seriously... WHAT THE HECK IS THIS??

    [PokeCommunity.com] Am I lucky?[PokeCommunity.com] Am I lucky?[PokeCommunity.com] Am I lucky?[PokeCommunity.com] Am I lucky?[PokeCommunity.com] Am I lucky?

    These are only some of the shinies I have come across in my Pokemon playing.
    Notice something familiar?
    And all in about a 2 year period as well.
    I just caught a Female Shiny Golbat today at Random... And this is literally my 5TH shiny from the Zubat Family. ;.;
    Zubat and Golbat on FireRed
    Golbat from Diamond
    Zubat from Platinum
    And now Golbat in Soul Silver!

    Has anyone else out there have this "problem" with the Zubat family?

    Or have this problem with any other Pokemon Family?

    Kinda. I caught a shiny Golbat in Diamond and my sister caught a shiny Zubat in Emerald. Probably just because they're one of the most common Pokemon in the game. :(

    Also, since this is just one family, feel free to discuss more than just the Zubat line (if something similar has happened to you), otherwise the discussion will fall flat.
     
    The Zubat family wants to suck you blood >D lol.

    Frankly I have horrible lucky with shinies, and I only caught 2 in my lifetime. But my cousin attracts shiny Oddishs' for some reason. He has about 7 of them. And just to boost his amusement, he battles against himself with a team of Dittos against the shiny Oddish -.-

    Well, I did say "Or have this problem with any other Pokemon?", but I shall specify more. :3
    And yeah, you do find them in all caves, and some places at night...
    So being as the most common Pokemon, they would be the most common shiny. XD; But still, shinies aren't that common!

    Wow, really..? You must stick out of that grass, I guess! :o Remember, max repels also repel shinies~ ;D
    AND WHAT?? That is sooo cool! XD
    If I had all my shiny Zuzus, I would sooo do that. XD

    Well I've got 2 shiny Ponytas, though that's not too unusual. But I also have a shiny Bulbasaur, Oddish and Budew 9_9 Grass/Poison types just love me.
     
    ...this thread makes me sad. I've never found a wild shiny. I wish I had some of your Zubat luck or something. :(

    not so much if all you found were zubats and golbats

    If you found them all randomly, then you're either extremely lucky or have played for a very long time. As you may know the chance of finding a pokemon is
    1 in 8192, meaning you would have had to encounter 40960 Pokemon to be unlucky, meaning you've played a lot. There are methods to finding shinies without luck,
    however, or ones that increase your chances of finding one. Most notably, the Poke-Radar (chaining), The Masuda Method, and RNGing, if you used one of those, you're
    still somewhat lucky, just not as lucky as someone who found shinies via random chance.

    Nope, all of these Pokemon were completely random. :3
    But how this is really odd, I never leave the mart without Max Repels. So I literally found all of these when I was either training, or when max repels weren't available.
     
    OP! I have shiny Zubat syndrome as well!!! The only shiny's I have encountered (other than a Groudon) have been Zubats/Golbats, I think I've caught 4 or 5. I can't believe I'm not the only one lol... Guess bats like us...

    I've NEVER found a shiny...but I have a memory of getting a shiny togepi i think on my crystal a long time ago...maybe

    If I recall correctly, the egg in Crystal had a 50% of hatching and being a shiny. :3 So that one doesn't really count. XD

    But NEVER?? :O That seems a tad odd... Everyone I know has at least encountered ONE random one before!
     
    ^actually that would be random. The Odd Egg from Crystal (where there is a chance of shininess) is from the daycare and i don't think you get a Togepi from that egg, only the other baby pokemon.

    I sort of have something similar- a Shiny Wingull syndrome. Although it's not as bad, it was only in Emerald and my Diamond near Fuego Ironworks (where I don't think they're that common, the sea routes in Emerald however...)

    Although it helps Shiny Wingull looks pretty good at least, with the green stripes. (Nicknamed my second one Seabreeze after the first as a homage)

    I don't think I play one file anywhere near enough to see a chain of shinies like that. In fact, over my many years of playing I've only ever owned about 5 legitimate shinies (Not counting story based ones such as our lake of Rage friend) and maybe come across a few more that I accidentally killed.

    So providing they are all legit, I'd have to say thats rather ridiculous more then I could say your lucky XD
     
    LOLOL Shiny Seel's are drawn to me <3

    In every game I've caught a Shiny Seel (Besides Red/Blue etc...)

    I wish I could have a break and get different shinies, although I do the RNG'ing and such so it's not really bothering, although I would like to find a nice random shiny that isn't SEEL.
