American market slipping?

I've given up on Pokemon. ;-; I think that the whole anime was a failure, resulting in something just to satisfy it's fanbase.

I also think that they're pushing their luck, seeing how the success was with Red and Blue... then Yellow... o.x;

*looks at mailbag* "50 cent stopped at 25 cent?" ROFL

I miss the good 'ol days.

I don't like the anime anymore. The biggest mistake they made was promoting Poke and Advanceshipping.

actualy i am 9 and watch shows that have stuff like that and they should make it a bit more machure like when ash and misty seperated there should have been a kissing seen

This is what I mean about the promotin. It's only the dub that causes the Pokeshipping promotion.

Um.... What about the Altoshippers like us? There should have been more Ash romance in PKMN Heros.

I Think 4kids Has Killed Pok?mon, Along With Some Of My Favorite Shows. I Don't Like The Way It Is Being Marketed Either. But That Isn't Going To Stop Me From Buying The Toys, Games, Ect In English Just because I Don't Like The Way They Are Advertised And Stuff. (although, the movies are a different story...) I Think 4kids Should Do For Pokemon What They Did For One Piece, Yu-gi-Oh, and shaman King. Release An Uncut , Unaltered Version Of The Dvd's. And The website Has Totally Gone Down The Tube. I Always Go To The Japanese Site Now -.-; *sigh*

4Kids ruins everything it touches... so it isn't really Nintendo's fault other than letting it go to them in the first place. But saying that, I've seen 1 episode of Chronicles (the one on Wednesday on Toonami... that's a CHANNEL for all you ignorant people) - hated it. I've seen 1 episode of AG - hated it. I'ves een 3 episodes of the other episodes - hated them as well. I don't like it, period.

As for the games... the monotony bores me rotten. If it wasn't for this forum, I'd have gone off them completely about 3 months ago. If D/P fails... I dunno what I'll do.

The only aspect of Pokemon that I sort of like is probably the TCG. At least Wizards of the Coast are putting some effort in making them look nice and stuff... even if they've used up all the possible combinations of Pokemon and attacks and the like. I would say the same about the manga, but I haven't seen it, so can't make proper judgement upon it.

Oh, and what DeltaSuicune said.

Me too. Sure the games are pretty exiting and all. But the show is a "disgrace" to anime. I now watch more violent and less blocked shows. I don't care because 4Kids has dreadful staff. I've given up on the anime completly.

The only thing I still hold on to as far is pokemon goes is the possibility. That's why I do fanfiction.

Imagine: Pokemon could have been YuYu Hakusho, a truly 3-dimensional anime, a Lord of the Rings where life is bittersweet. What a concept... I want a show that focuses on the things great fanfiction does: what the fanbases are intrigued to see. I want to see Negrek's characters live on a screen, because her writing is how anime is supposed to be. It could have been a hybrid series, complete with the now fan-made morphs.

Pokemon, in this relapse I'm having in obsession, isn't the show or the games, but what still could be because of people who feel like I do.

Everyone failed as soon as the decided pokemon would be marketed for young kids. Because people are greedy. And young kids are money.

As for the second rant, Nintendo used to be my favorite system... but lately, my GCN is rotting and PS2 is my haven. I miss Dreamcast. We need more SA2 games: Amazing, 3-dimensional storylines with characters that you can really feel. But recently, nintendo's be just remaking things. It's become unsure of itself.

Think of how amazing the DS. It is, virtually, a handheld N64. If you told someone in 1996 that one day N64 would be able to fit in your pocket, they would have put you in an asylum. Nintendo has this amazing advancement, but aren't doing anything with it.

They have stopped marketing games for everyone. Think of the new DS slogan: Touching is good. Who are we trying to sell to? Perverted 30-year-olds who live with their moms.

As long as Nintendo is stuck in a dream-world where everyone is happy because they are making money, there will be no more truly great, fun games.

The older systems are the best. They have the most varied games. Bomberman 64: The Second Attack is better than any game I've ever played on GCN. Super Monkeyball was one of the earliest games, but apparently people don't sit down to have fun on GCN anymore, so no more challenge games like that. The new Mario Party games are crap. And with Sega in the financial trouble it is, we shouldn't be expected any ,more amazing games from them any time soon.

Maybe the fall of Sega promted Nintendo. All I know is that my friends still love Dreamcast the best. And is it the best-- ahead of its time.

It seems to me like PS and Nintendo switched. PS used to have the violent games I didn't really enjoy, but now they're putting out things for everyone. Now Nintendo has become corrupt by our materialistic, sex-driven world.

I'm not sure I understand how their minds work over there, but normal people here in my town want to play games that are fun, that their baby brother can play with them.

All of the Britney Spears of the world can go to hell, because the world is sick of them. And she knows it. So why can't Nintendo see it? People still watch; they always will. But that doesn't make her popular.

Well I don't liek how the Big N was been selling Pokemon. Look at their commercals.

The R/S commercail. Remember how they were showing different kinds of people with pokemon to show how they look like them. Like the old man and the shroomish. funny. But to me that showed that pokemon is for everybody and all ages.

The FR/LG commercail. to me it just showed clips of the game.

The E comercails. Clearly shows that they are aiming pokemon to the little kids. Who was in that comercail doing all those attacks and walking around. Not no teen but a little kid. Like a little kid knows what the true value of pokemon. It the older generration who has been with the serires since R/B/Y. That comercail clearly shows that they aiming pokemon to little kids.

I liked Col. for the Gamecube. It was different. It took us away from the masterquest game (Figthing gym leaders) and showed us a cool way of Gotta catch them all or in this case Sang them all. But this game is close to me because the hero was no little kid but a teen like me. I can relate to the want of adventure and freedom. This was no ten year old like in R/B/Y/G/S/C/R/S/E/FR/LG but guy who looks like he older.

NOw I guess the people in Japn who make the pokemon games are getting the american memo of aiming the game to little kids because look at Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness. I like the story of an evil Lugia but what I don;t like is the hero. He is a little kid and if you see he is babysitting his kid sister who is shorter then him. He has those wide eyes that look so childish. I going to like the game but I not going to like the hero. Unless they going to do what they did in Legend of Zelda orcalrina of Time where they made Link an aldult in the middle of the game. But like they going to make that little kid in to a teen-like person and not show a single picture. I doubt.

I guess we see what the future holds for pokemon and I be the loyal fan and stay on this ship until it sinks. And when this ship sinks, I be there still as loyal as ever.
