Animation quality

    Clearly its better from the early episodes but it took a dip in the Battle Frointier episodes, in What I Did For Love(Re-watch it so my points proven :D) May looks awfully gaunt and annoreix in the First Act, her head looks huge on her tiny body, the Animations getting better in DP but the Seals (+Swift attacks) look weird because everything else is 2D. The animation has weird moments too, like at the end of Throwing The Track Switch, Dawn and Ash are Frozen when the Narator speaks at the end, yet Buizel, Aipom and Pikachu are all moving.
     
    Well part of the lousy animation is due to Kinoshita, Takeda and Shimura (although Kinoshita is getting better, Takeda is getting worse and Shimura is either awful or okay)

    Unlike most anime, Pokemon is over 500 episodes and anime like Haruhi are a lot shorter, usually 13-26. Heck FLCL which was known for good animation was only 6 episodes.

    And then there's the fact that Pokemon is aimed at children who dont care how well a show is animated, they just watch it for the Pogeys and teh action.

    Indeed. People forget how disposable the show is. It's cheap, cheap, and well, I'll go with what Dogasu said, some time ago.

    Whoever said to leave them off the hook? If anything, you can now apply a higher standard to them, since they can deliver on decent animation. Does that help?
     
    As like others have said before, it's mostly for smaller kids that don't care about the animation.

    TV cartoon show makers tend to not care about the animation as much as the plot or the actions taking place. To be honest, a cartoon shouldn't be analyzed by animation over the plot at all. The plot is the most important part of any media subject (films, TV shows, books, etc).
    Sure, the landscape (and clouds) are different looking on each episode/series, but as long as you can tell what it is, it really doesn't matter.
    But if this where a film, then the smallest details are worth to debate. In conclusion, it's just a TV cartoon- it's not meant to be criticized by quality.

    i don't care if the animation sucks i don't watch the show taht much anymore.
     
    The animation is good for the most part. Like when I watch early Indigo I say 'god, this was GOOD back then'. Except for a few(Shimuera, Iwane), the rest weren't that great.

    Like me and Charaxes knows, theere is one person that just needs to get the fudge out. coughTakedacoughcough

    Indeed. Early Indigo was a little angular for my tastes, but definitely awesome. Or, I certainly appreciate it in light of BF and D/P's crayon drawings. Heh.

    I'm not quite up on my animator knowledge yet, but I'm getting there. My primary indignation is for the writers, dontcha know.

    (As for Takeda, I'll hold the sack while you throw 'em in, then toss the fool out the laundry chute. Heh.)
     
    You want Takeda's worst work to date? Watch DP 83. Be warned though, because that episode will cause major eyebleed with the quality of art shown.
