2nd Gen Any help?

I can't find a heracross in pokemon silver! its been friggen 2 hours and i havent found one, my slowpoke has been headbutting trees and all i see is: exeggcute, weedle and pineco. im at the iliex forest, am i looking in the wrong place?

Heracross can be found in trees on routes 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 42, 43, 44, 45, and 46 and they are rare so ot my take a while.
