Now that Gen II indicators have been data mined, anticipated release might be done hopefully sooner.

Upon update, will the game let you choose again (for existing players) a starter pokemon? How about new accounts, which starter batch will be offered to them?

But the question for this thread is...... dun dun dun..... are you Gen II ready?

In terms of evolution - my troops are ready for Crobat, Steelix, Kingdra, Espeon, Umbreon, Bellosom, Slowking and Politoad. Blissey and Scizor are going to be a challenge.

Still not sure how the baby pokemon of some Gen 1 pokemons will come fruiton (if exclusive from eggs from pokestops or breeding will be introduced). But as preparation, I have prepared a least a pair of these pokemons.

What are your Gen II preparation tips and speculations?

I wouldn't be surprised if they don't include baby Pokemon for now. As far as evolutions go, I'm ready for most of them, with the exception to maybe Steelix, Scizor and definately Blissey since I don't even have a Chansey yet. I completely forgot about Bellosom and recently evolved another Gloom into Vileplume, lol. Hopefully they'll be a way to determine how we get Pokemon that have split evolutions (like we have with the Eevee name trick). Also looking forward to getting Porygon 2 the most.

I'm more than stocked up on candies for potential evolutions, with the exception of Porygon (sitting on 26 candies).

I'm pretty sure 700+ Eevee candies will be enough for Espeon and Umbreon. Couple of near perfect Golbat waiting to evolve (sitting on over 300 Zubat candies). Couple of 91%+ IV Seadra ready to go with 200+ Horsea candies.

Both Hitmons are sitting on over 100 candies each, so I'm hoping those will all get converted to Tyrogue candies for Hitmontop.

Split evolutions in Oddish, Poliwag, Slowpoke I'm sitting on over 200 candies for each. But if they end up random like Eeveelutions, that might not be enough.

Sitting on over 100 candies each for Onix and Scyther as well. 71 Chansey candies so I'm hoping Blissey won't cost 100. All three have 91%+ IV rating ones prepped, too.

I could always buddy up and walk for any extra candies, but I'm counting on not having to do that.

Personally I'm not overly excited about the Gen 2 Pokemon. Not that I don't think they should be included, but I'm admittedly far off of getting every available Pokemon. I'm curious what others like me who watched the original first or second season and played the original games when they were new think about going beyond the original 150.

I will have to hope for most of the gen 2 evolutions of gen 1 Pokemon to spawn in the wild, for example Steelix will be impossible to get, as well as Porygon2. Unless the predeseesors magically spawn in hordes or hatch from eggs.

But I can probably get Crobat, Espeon and Umbreon somewhat easily. Though to be honest I probably won't get most of Gen 2.
