The best team Ash ever had was in the Kanto series.
Pikachu,Bulbasaur,Charizard,and Squirtle, are one of Ash's best Pokemon teams he ever did have.

Well because Pikachu,Bulbasaur,Squirtle and Charizard are his first original team and they had some of the best battles on the show and proven how strong they really were,they are a memorable team and will never be forgotten.

Wrong Ash had Butterfree and Pidgeotto before any of his starters.

I'm guessing this thread is asking which team combination that Ash has used in the past is the best, right?
Well then. In terms of the best, which I would account for which achived him the most, worked best in dynamic but not going into personal favourites. I'm going with Ash's Sinnoh team. Just mainly due to how well and complimentary his party was. First of all, although I'm sure most of us have agreed the many team members weren't given the right handling, and no development near the end. I have to agree that they worked quite well together, and well proof is in the battles. They eventually beat Paul, but then again that was expected.
I'm interested in seeing how Ash's team (in rotation) works out by the end of Unova. Seeing as so far I have to certainly admit that I think it was a great idea adding the rotation idea, which keeps Ash's team somewhat fresh, but also does help him battle wise. But yeah, when Unova is finnished I'm sure by all means I'll think Ash's Unova party was his 'best'.

The Pokemon he has in Kanto/Orange league. He had it the longest so it's the strongest.. like Pikachu, Charzard, etc.

I kinda forgot to add Butterfree,Primeape,and Haunter and Pidgeotto because they were also part of Ash's original Kanto team.

Well the team that I most like is also te Kanto team.
But for me it doesn't mean they are his best.
The best team he ever used was in Sinnoh in my opinion.
But if we could choose the best team he can use it would be:
Pikachu, Charizard, Donphan, Sceptile, Glalie, Staraptor.
I could also use Infernape but Charizard Ash's most powerfull fire-type Pokémon, (Charizard is in his final stage for a long time now and has beaten an legendary Pokémon while Infernape has evolved recently and sometimes needs his ability to defeat other strong Pokémon). Also I believe Oshawott will be Ash's first water type starter to evolve (his first water Pokémon who did this was Krabby who evolved to Kingler) in his final stage, which would make me changing Glalie to Samurott.
And to finish here is the team that Ash could have had in the whole series and that I would choose.
