[Other] Base Rom help Fire Red hacking

Ok so I've tried using 2 different base roms, and each comes with it's own set of problems. The 1.0 base rom I use, Squirrels, comes with major issues. If I change the starting location via hex editing or using the program GBA intro manager, the game refuses to load any of my custom scripts when spawning the player on the new map, npcs make the 'interaction' noise but no text appears. When I go downstairs the Mom npc is in the wrong place and I can't interact with her, and the game freezes if I try to leave the house the game freezes.

With the 1.1 rom all of the hex data is in weird places - the music tracks and fanfares are all wrong, which is very iritating, any changes to the prof. oak intro must be done in a hex editor which took me like 14 hours to do, but I can get my custom scripts to load when spawning in a different location as long as i delete all map scripts beforehand. The big problem, other than all data being in weird places, is that the script is glitchy - from the get go the start menu appears as super glitchy, and one of my npcs, if I keep talking to them, disappears, puts a SAFARI BALL in the player's inventory , then reappears...

Any ideas on what's going wrong, or which base fire red rom I should be using, would be greatly appreciated.

The first issue is terminology. Kind o a nitpick but knowing this will make future interactions less confusing
- A ROM Base is a patch you apply to a ROM, usually this is a full QoL hack on its own.
- the ROM itself is what game you're using.

Either way that looks like an issue with the INIs. Specifically, that map crash is because the warp you're going through doesn't exist. Open it up in AdvanceMap and see if you can get the warps pointed to the right spots.

Thanks dude, I actually started fresh and it now works, I think it was an issue with map scripts. As you know what you're talking about do I need to edit the .ini if adding new maps, and if so should I stick to adding new maps to existing banks/ Also does advance map automagically repoint map data if the map data is too big to store in the original space where I've enlarged it/

AdvanceMap automatically repoints everything.
