Battle Backgrounds

I've read the wiki and searched google but i can't find the answer. I have a battle background that I want to use while I'm surfing on an area of water that's located on a field map. How do I call a water background instead of a field background only while surfing?

Go to Graphics\Battlebacks and replace the battlebgWater, battlebgWaterEve and battlebgWaterNight files with your background.

echi thanks for the reply. but i already did that step. i have a water background. but instead of water it pulls up field. everything is labeled correctly. shoud i have not set the meta data of the map to battleback field?

Yes you shouldn't have. That makes it so no matter where you battle on the map it'll always have a field background.

thanks for the replies. but now i have another question. i have 3 or four different battlebacks i want to use on different routes. is it possible to call those up instead of setting it in meta data? would i have to edit script for that?

I think it's easier to do it in metadata.

yeah i figured so :( that would just bring me back to square one, if there is water on that map and i surf the field background would always be on. Essentials wiki doesnt give much information on how to use different backgrounds on different routes without setting metadata and messing things up for when you are surfing.
