Battle Server Tournament Planning

First off, I think we should use the same framework as the previous Get-Together tournament. The usual point system has always proven to be the best style of tournament during a restricting amount of time. However, I think we should scrap the bonus point feature explained in the previous tournament, and use something new. Instead, we can pick a battle format everyday and give out bonus points to those that battle in said format before the next one is chosen. It'll promote variety and encourage participants to play in metagames that they might have never tried before. We could also have mini-tournaments with scheduled match-ups, but those are difficult to pull off.

Basically, all we need to do is...
• Conclude on what we want the tournament to be like
• Make the thread design (I call this!)
• Make the emblems (I call this if I do the emblems for the Wi-Fi tournament)

Oh I like this idea. But it'll only be 3 days so we're only gonna choose from 3 formats?

Do you mean mini tournaments like the ones we do in Community Days? I find this a good idea since some people might be busy and not have time to battle a lot for the tournament so we can host a few mini tournaments for them.

But if you mean like mini-tournaments for the battle server tournament, then why not? But it depends if points will count to the winner.

WIP (Text is from the Wi-Fi tournament; it will be changed.)

I'll have the emblems done tomorrow.

Here we are with just a simple tournament. The goal is to get the most points possible before the end of the Get-Together. You will be awarded 10 points for every battle you have won, but your score won't change if you lose a battle. But there is a little twist: you can receive bonus points depending on the format you play in. On July 5th (EST / UTC -5), all battles done in any Random Battle format will provide you an extra 2 points each time you win. The same will be done for UU on July 6th, and NU on July 7th. We may also have mini-tournaments, so keep your eyes peeled! Good luck, and have fun.

This is a PC Battle Server tournament only. While signing up, please post with your server username(s) included. That post must be used to record your battles so we can easily keep track of your results. The accompanying spoiler should give you an idea to what your post should look like. If you fail to do any of this, we will not count your battles. Additionally, if both sides do not confirm the battle, we will not count it.

Spoiler:

Simply hop on the PC Battle Server and ask for a GT tournament battle, but be sure to say what tier or format you want to battle in. You can also challenge someone or use the "Look for a battle" button. Just bear in mind that we will only count battles you have done with people who have signed up for this tournament.

BC's General Battle Rules are in effect.

— All battles will be in standard OU tier if you and your opponent are unable to agree on a format.

— If you are dodging requests for a battle from certain people who are being civil, we may dock points or even disqualify you. If you don't want to battle anymore, just edit your original post to state it.

— Participants may change their teams at any time.

Probably. We want to give people enough time to make a team.

Like this (scroll down a little bit). Of course, we can do server tournaments like on CommDay, but it depends on how active everything will be.

Edit: Here are the emblems!
