Hello. Recently I've done many rounds at the Battle Tower, and I'm trying to figure out the best team. Now, I'm not big on EVs and IVs, when I actually play the game I play casually. But here's what I got. So far I think the Rhydon is sort of slowing me down. I tend to do double battles as this team fares better during them. Please note I am not big on trading and my source of TMs, items, that sorta thing is limited. I will accept advice to new movesets, but I am not sure If I can get my hands on the stuff to get it with. Please review, be as mean as you want!
Gyarados @ Sea incense
Flamethrower, Waterfall, Ice Fang, Earthquake
HP: 163
ATK: 140
DEF: 89
SP. ATK: 70
SP. DEF: 127
SPD: 86
I send Gyarados out in the beginning. It usually lives the whole match. I send it out alongside Rhydon, but Rhydon usually dies in the process.
Rhydon
Surf, Strength, Thunder, Flamethrower
HP: 167
ATK: 141
DEF: 136
SP. ATK: 56
SP. DEF: 49
SPD: 57
Ah, Rhydon. He tends to die out. I tend to meet a lot of water-pokemon trainers, and that's where his downfall is. And, his moveset does not really benefit his stats. He has just about all special attacks... while he excels in attack and does not so much in sp. atk.
Crobat @ Razor Fang
Fly, Sludge Bomb, Giga Drain, X-Scissor
HP: 163
ATK: 97
DEF: 97
SP. ATK: 89
SP. DEF: 98
SPD: 154
I've been meaning to replace Fly but I haven't got my hands on a good move to replace it with. Sludge Bomb reigns as his STAB move, and can usually take out the water pokes that bring down Rhydon. But of course, I don't want Rhydon to go down. Giga Drain deals with weak water types.
Spiritomb @ Mind Plate
Nasty Plot, Torment, Psychic, Dark Pulse
HP: 122
ATK: 114
DEF: 133
SP. ATK: 96
SP. DEF: 126
SPD: 49
Spiritomb is very useful when it comes to the types that the others can't handle. With Crobat's X-scissor, it can deal with psychic and dark types well but when it comes to Ghosts Spiritomb seals the deal. While Gyarados dishes out massive power, he thinks nasty thoughts and goes down hill with Dark Pulse.
Review, thank you.
