70 base speed isn't exactly great though...breloom's speed.

90, I'd see your point. Simply put, Luxray fails, but it is cool...
 
yeah he is pr0 for story mode and looks nice to boot :)
I still say manectric is better :D

Heracross used Earthquake! Luxray fainted! Luxray can hardly outspeed breloom...what a useful poke...

Good point. It is useable. I actually quite like it. Too bad its speed is that of a stick. It is cool though, and I'd use it probably if I had D/P. But, it is useless in OU b/c everything else is faster.
 
With the right support, like Ninjask, it could work. Like Rampardos.
 
i actually use luxray with NO support or speed, and it makes for an awesome starter.

it has decent HP and defenses, so, the idea: with Shuca Berry, it has no weaknesses and has NO reasons to switch out. from there, you take out ground types and dragons that they bring in expecting you to switch out, and just paralyze anything that can't handle being paralyzed. it will at least get away with one KO and one hurtful paralyze.

it should be able to OHKO standard Swampert with 70 BP HP Grass, but even if it doesn't, it really doesn't need to OHKO swampert anyway. the idea is to make the foe switch out to screw up the opposing team's format. with a physical wall out of the way and some special or physical sweeper paralyzed, you are given a lot of freedom to wreak havoc.
 
And what reason is there for this thread to exist? Creating threads for analyzing a Pokémon or a moveset that people haven't thought of for a Pokémon is fine by me, (and I'd really like to see threads like that as well. :x) but you have to have knowledge of competitive battling before you do that, which you obviously don't have seeing as you didn't even provide us with IVs and EVs and even the moveset is bad.

If this was a thread for rating your Luxray, I'd keep it open, but since you're obviously just showing off, (or at least trying to) I'm closing this.
