3rd Gen best pokemon in fire red and leaf green

not including legendaries or starters what do u think the best pokemon in the game is
my pick: DRAGONITE
why: awesome looks, great attacks, amazing stats

There is no real thing as the best Pokemon, even within a selected game, because all Pokemon have their weaknesses against other Pokemon. Dragonite is a good choice since it can do so many things, but even a Dragonite will fall to a Lapras or Blastoise packing Ice Beam.

Best in terms of power is quite obviously Mewtwo, but then again, it's a legendary anyways.
Best non-legendary would have to be Snorlax since once it starts using Curse, just about nothing can stop it, not even Fighting Pokemon. And if Curselax isn't enough, it can learn plenty of other moves to handle its opponents.

dragonite... overrated EVERYWHERE. johto's dragonite is tryranitar. both TOO strong.
'curselax'... wow you must play on NetBattle. snorlax might work for you, but i have no patience for the "good" snorlax strategies.

i must say the pokemon who perform the best from FireRed for me are:

-Kangaskhan
-Clefable (beleive it or not)
-Mr. Mime
-Dodrio
-Lapras
-Poliwrath
-Venomoth
-Ninetales
-Victreebell

i only listed those pokemon that are retrievable on red itself and aren't, well, overrated. if i were to shorten it to just ONE pokemon, suprisingly enough, i'd say Venomoth. at Battle Tower, Venomoth was the only pokemon i had that didn't faint and i got through the last three levels with it. it can learn some awesome moves.
