3rd Gen Best Sp;attack?

    who has the best? Is it Mewtwo, deoxys? Who is it?.
     
    A Mewtwo has a base Sp. attack of 154. With Deoxys, it differs depending on which game he is on.

    In Ruby/Sapphire (Normal Form) Deoxys' base sp. attack is 150.

    In Fire Red (Attack form) Deoxys' base sp. attack is 180.

    In Leaf Green (Defense Form) Deoxys' base sp. attack is 70.

    In Emerald (Speed Form) Deoxys' base sp. attack is 95.

    What does base SP:attack mean?
     
    I think it means the stats you can expect them to have at level 50 without added IVs and EVs, but I'm not sure.
     
    Sp;attack appears to be the Special Attack stat of a Pokemon. As SM said before, the base Attack and Special Attack of the FireRed version may be 180 (26 points higher than Mewtwo), its base Defense and Special Defense stats are a paltry 20 (70 points lower than Mewtwo). To put that in perspective, There are only six Pokemon in the game that suck more in Defense stat than FR Deoxys (Chansey, Blissey, Abra, Igglybuff, Elekid, and Pichu), and it is tied for the absolute worst Special Defense (with the likes of Igglybuff, Carvanha, Weedle, Caterpie, and Magikarp). That means you will get one shot with it. In other words, it sucks.
     
    What are the normal deoxys stats? Do they stand up to mewtwo?
     
    Normal Deoxys has better Attack and Speed than Mewtwo, but Mewtwo doesn't need too many physical attacks and Mewtwo has less speed than it by 20 points.

    However, Mewtwo has way better HP and defenses than normal and Fire Red Deoxys. Deoxys will die in one hit to just about anything, but Mewtwo can sit around and use things like Calm Mind or Recover.

    Anyways, the Pokemon with the best Sp. Attack in the game is none other than...

    CLAMPERL!

    That's right, with max Sp. Attack and Deepseatooth attached, Clamperl has 542 Sp. attack. Deoxys FR only reaches 504.

    Thanks for all the information. I'm asking this stuff because my rival is thinking of getting a deoxys to battle of my mewtwo. I was getting a little afraid.
     
    I wouldn't worry about Deoxys as much as a well-trained Tyranitar. It makes Mewtwo's strongest attack useless, and can take a few physical hits while it hits with a STAB Crunch.
     
    I dont know why people get so scared over that for. Also you can get a Ghost or any other Pokemon that has good or exellent attack power and just teach it shadow ball.
