(Tell me if you like the title)

Anyways, today I had my first online battle with someone random. Started out just great, I had Abomasnow and Empoleon out, ready to kick some butt, Jorge (person I was facing) sent out Torterra and Raichu. I thought, Torterra is going down so I used Abomasnow's blizzard. Jorge took Raichu out and put in Staraptor and I thought great, two kills in one hit. So Jorge's Torterra uses EQ and does hardly any damage to Abomasnow and took a chunck outa Empoleaons. Abomasnow used Blizzard and both were dead. I was very happy...UNTIL Jorge sent out Raichu again and too my surprise, Empoleon too. I figured Wood Hammer would KO Empoleon easy, so I use it. I hit it and were it should have said, it's super effective, it said it's not very affective so I took out hardly any of it's health, and I was VERY angry. I eventually one, but all I had left was my Noctowl.

So if anyone else has a story like this were they fought annoying trainers with hacked pokemon, just post ur story here.

I think that's wrong because it shouldn't have said it's super effective but it shouldn't had said not very effective. But to the best of my knowledge you can't hack the type/Super effectiveness of a move.

wait so grass shouldn't be super effective against empoleon anyways? I'm pretty sure it was but I could be wrong. But it really did say it's not very affective. Every attack I threw at it was "not very effective" I don't know about this either but is flying and ghost not very affective against empoleon? This person confuses me.

Empoleon walls twelve elements, but Grass does neutral damage to it. Read Serebii's elemental chart. Empoleon is Water/Steel.

It's a Water/Steel You should at least look at it's info or something >_>
EDIT: Ok left out some info for reading too fast Flying and ghost aren't very effective against steel.
Like Ichida said Read Serebii's elemental chart.

haha I'm sorry about not knowing. I just kinda assumed because the torterra thing. It should work like torterra beats Empoleon beat Infernape.

But this generation its kinda vice versa. Infernape (fighting) beats Empoleon (steel) but Empoleon learns flying beats torterra (grass) but torterra beats fire (ground)

I'm just kinda been all confused this generation. And usually doesn't a type get assigned 3 types it's good against and weak against? If not correct me.

Sorry also, I'm just kinda lazy right now....... *sigh* but thanks anyways. :D

It's pretty variant if you ask me. Poisin has two weaknesses and one strength, but Fighting type has Five Strenths [and two weaknesses, but that's not supporting my point >.>].

He must of hacked his pokemon but I herd you can't use hack pokemon, idk really but it does seems unfair

I don't understand why people would even do that, I'm just glad I won. Like that saying goes "Cheaters never prosper." haha

Don't forget their stats. Infernape has great speed+ attack, both plain & special, but pretty lackluster defence. Torterra's Earthquake might OHKO Infernape. But a good hit could defeat Torterra. Then there's Empoleon. Flying moves alone won't help it beat Torterra much, but an Ice Beam could OHKKO it. Without Ice Beam and it's SMALL margin of speed, it WILL lose to a Torterra's EQ. Granted Torterra doesn't barely survive.
