Birthday Present Recommendations

    Alright I'm buying my girlfriend a GBA and pokemon games and I got Emerald and Mystery Dungeon one. Is there any others I should get? Or are they basically the same between the colors??
     
    Pick either FireRed and/or LeafGreen on top of those and you're set.
     
    Alright, so the which of leaf green/ fire red do you think is better??
    Those two are similar as are the ruby red and emerald right?
    So only one of each is good?

    ...First off, Emerald is superior to Ruby and Sapphire, due to all the additions (Battle Frontier, both teams and their matching Legendaries, Kanto Pokemon, etc). Second, as far as which game to get, it depends on Pokemon preference. They each (naturally) have Pokemon exclusive to that version. Whichever game that has the more favorited exclusives is the one to buy.

    As for what those exclusives are, I'd suggest checking out the FR/LG FAQ in the matching subforum, as...I can't remember right now :P.

    And yes, either FireRed or LeafGreen along with those other games you already mentioned is good enough.

    sweet thanks a lot, I'm glad I made the right choice with emerald and I'll probably go with leaf green.
     
    But to get most of the Pokemon without game shark you need to get a Ruby version unless if she already has XD because Surskit, Meditite, Roselia, Zangoose and Lunatone aren't found in Emerald. But you can get those Pokemon in either XD of Colossuem
