Well, what exactly is this tool for? I see no comments, so I'm guessing nobody else knows either? Even after this thread is over a month old.

It's for locating the initial routine that another routine was called from. If the game uses the branch-and-link instruction ("bl"), the game "calls" another routine. However, often there's nothing in the called routine that says where it was called from. It can be a pain to find where a routine is called from but this tool, from what I can tell, searches through the ROM and finds all the places where the called routine is called from.
