So its the day before Regionals I am still so-so on what to run. Brad Poth showed me his deck a month or so ago (12 Monarch) and its not a bad deck. It is just not my type of deck since it can draw terrible. But I take it to my local (Not really the greatest in terms of competition but w/e) and win like I always do there. It drew pretty well but I still wasnt sure what to run. That night I had people from my local test 12 Monarch and such. I begin looking through my book for some ideas. My book has like everything and I was close to using Dimensional Fissure but I decide to at least put together a Chain Burn deck and test with Twister in the side for Decree
So in 10 matches with Decree in their deck and Twister in mine I won 7. Not terrible but they were all Monarch variants so still nothing to be excited about but I felt more confident with Chain Burn than a deck maining 12 tributes and crumbles to DD Warrior Lady or Crow on my Frog. So I Instant Message a teammate CJ (Pink Floyd) and tell him to bring a Dimension Wall (Only card I was missing). And I go to sleep.
So one way or another we show up on location and I as of now was going to think of my final deck. I go to the vendors in what seemed like 3 minutes I here atleast 5 people ask for 3 Pulling the Rugs. I was kinda worried about 12 Monarch if every one is siding 3 Rugs so I go trade some stuff and attempt to find some Diamond Dude Turbo stuff.
Once I fail at getting Destiny Draw CJ shows up with the rest of my team. I get my Dimension Wall and CJ tells me he needs Zaborg, My only Mirror Force etc. etc. etc.
So yeah I am going to run Chain Burn by that point.
In what seemed like forever before the tourney began I eat lunch, trade DTC a teammate a Card Trooper and do more trades. Then suddenly the Pairings for round 1 go up.
And I am not on it! Hell atleast 60 people where not! Gotta Love Your Move Games Regionals.
So a half hour later they fix it and at like 12:30 Regionals starts.
I look at the pairing see my name look at my opponent quickly and it says DTC (Carl) I thought I saw wrong and checked it again and I guess I am indeed facing a Teammate Round 1. Yippy for .5 % chance pairings!
Round 1: Chain Burn vs Card Trooper Bazoo
Game 1: I know his only out to beat me is Jinzo. I normally run Chain Burn slowly by setting cards like Dimension and Cylinder saving Just Desserts and Secret Barrel when I can get them to build up cards. However I need to start fast. He gets out Trooper and Cyber Phoenix so I could not Ring either of them for the longest time when I got Carl down to like 3500 or so. His Trooper Bazoo gets me down to 100 exactly. However in the time he hits me for 1900 and 1200 each turn I just keep the Burn coming and lock his field with Ojamas. I get him down to like 100 and draw a burn for game.
Game 2: I knew he wasn't siding Decree but he has Wombats so I side in Lava and a Waboku. In this Carl doesn't see anything Anti-Burn and I start well enough to do what the deck does. So I won =/
Sorry Carl I tell him he will win out and I will keep his tie breakers good
I am happy I beat a deck I will be facing all day but it was a teammate.

Round 2 Chain Burn vs Trooper Bazoo
Game 1: I have my auto win Game 1 if he doesn't get out Jinzo. He goes with a Trooper turn 1 so I know what he is running. I cant help but to check to me left to watch Ivan Flores play my teammate CJ.
Game 2: I see him side single cards 3 to be exact. Its Return so in theory you don't side Decree you side Wombat. So I side Lava/Offerings. He goes first with a set monster. I open a Lava and 4 Traps + Strike (I had a Just Desserts so I wanted him to summon another guy and I burn him for 2500 instead of 2000). So I set the 5 and end. He drops a Jinzo and I am like no worries.
I draw a Burn card and he summons Reaper (I wanted him to summon for me to Lava) but this was NOT what I wanted to see. So its 50/50 right here. He nails Lava he wins he doesn't I MORE than likely have game (I have atleast 5000 damage f/d cause of Strike probably more). He hits the Reaper because you know its YuGiOh =/
I loss
Game 3: He goes Decree and I didn't side for Decree because I wont expect a Return player to Side it What are they going to do Decree their Return or their 10+ Traps?
Meh 1-1.. Its Chain Burn =/
Round 3: Chain Burn vs Phoenix
Game 1: His deck is based on the Phoenix fully. So I don't expect Decree mained. I start with Dimension Wall on Don. Then I Cylinder Don. So I take 2 quick burn shots with revealing I am running Chain Burn. So I set 5 and have 4 Burns (Two Being Ojama/Just). Followed by Waboku. So I draw into a Tremendous for game.
Game 2: His side decked Dust Tornado and hit me in the end phase. Once one a key Accumulated Fortune and pulled out the win because I needed those 2 cards to do a final 2500 or so.
Game 3: He sees no side deck material and I continue to win by turn 4 with a Double Accumulated Fortune + 1 Reckless Chain.
Meh 2-1 Its Chain Burn =/
Round 4: Chain Burn vs. Deck Stolen Guy
His deck got stolen =/ So he didn't show Because I dislike free wins I atleast draw out my first 10 cards and I had him if he didn't Main Decree. I heard he was running Monarch garbage w/o Decree. So the win is Free but I had Game 1 atleast =/
Meh 3-1… Its Chain Burn =/
Round 5: Chain Burn vs Horus Decree Lock
-_- I don't mind loses especially with an easily countered deck. But when he sets JAR OF GREED turn 1 you don't expect MAIN DECKED Decree.
He has like 10 Traps with Triple Decree. Such poor card choices =/
I scoop when he goes Decree game 1 (I can do like 8000 without my Traps if I hit a like 6 card chain with Chain Strike at the end and use all my Spells But I had no Spells at the time =/
He sides Jinzo and Wombat and other junk with Horus. I side Level Limit, Lava and Koala to try and normally burn him but it failed especially when you open with the only 2 Offerings you sided in.
Meh 3-2… Its Chain Burn =/
Round 6: Chain Burn vs Rat Box
Game 1: He had no Main Decked counters to me and I went first and set 5 and a Monster. He blinks looks at me and Sets 3 s/t and Attacks with Rat I get 5 Free cards with Jar with 5 down Obv I win.
He moans about not siding Decree today I don't care and side Twister (I dont trust him)
Game 2: He started with a Set Monster and I start with a Tremendous fire + a set Dimension Wall. He flips Rat and attacks into Dimension Wall. He sets some S/T and ends. I continue to set 5 and burn him and he cant finish me off as I set the rest of my hand the next turn.
He sided nothing He showed me his last hand… Mostly 1-4-1 Garbage and no monsters and he didnt side anything for me=D

Round 7: Chain Burn vs Monarch
Game 1: I win game 1 with 2 Desserts with Ojama. I watch a CJ get stacked this round. The guy goes like MST, Cyber, Lily, NoC Card Destruction a Sillva into Limiter.
Back to my game
Game 2: He sided Decree and I nail one early with MST and play the deck differently than I like setting stuff and playing it in his end phase etc. before he can Decree again. He only sees one Decree and I had a Twister. I lock him with Bind + Ojamas + LV 4s so he cant attack I stock pile Offerings and Twisters with Burn. So I stall out to burn stuff.
Meh... 5-2... It's Chain Burn
Final Round: Chain Burn vs Six Samurai
Game 1: He shuffled bad dropping a Samurai. I am not worried if he has a good version. I hope he has no Shein. Playing 1 Trap a Turn would suck
I start with just a Set Ojama. He sets a monster and ends. I draw a Secret Barrel. I continue to set 4. He flips Yeichi and tries to destroy Roar and I can them all with a Chain Strike at the end. I draw a Just Desserts off the Jar and draw a Ring my next turn. He summons his Grandmaster and I Ring/Dessert for game.
He is really mad right now. He is moaning about facing Chain Burn this late. I already know I wont Top 8 and he thinks he will if he wins. I ask for his record he says 5-2. I strongly doubt he will but I keep it to myself. He side decks like a fool. Playing three cards at the back of his side deck on his mat then picking 3 from his deck.
Like I dont know he sided Decree? w/e I side my Decree goodies. And watch Jamaal Plummers DDT/Bazoo/Return deck next to me while he finishes.
Game 2: He says "shit!" when he draws and looks really mad. He sets a monster and ends. Obv. He has no Decree and thats good I have no Decree stuff. I open with Reckless and Accumulated with Fire Darts I first Tremendous then set the hand. He flips A Samurai guy attacks for 1700 + Grandmaster and sets an S/T. I fear Decree and Chain 4 cards (Ceasefire, Darts, Poison, Accumulated I saved Reckless so I still draw next turn) I hit 900 off Darts and draw from Accumulated. I draw a Detonation for the turn so play my Reckless and nail and Secret Barrel and Just Desserts. I look at the cards I drew from Accumulated the last turn and relieve I have 3 Barrels in hand O.O + Burn Stuff + No Decree I won
6-2... meh I am pleased
He is really really disappointed. I ask if he sided 3 Decree and he said yea I told him I had Twister in hand if he had one down and he doesn't want to hear it =/... and I was lying with that statement
He sits their almost in shock at me running Chain Burn sayings it a dead deck and such. Wishing he sided Wombats and Jinzo and more counters to it I tell him that's why I ran it (No Wombats mostly) I wait for the Round to end Plummers game goes over time and its the last game so a crowd gathers and such and watch an interesting 3rd game under End of Match Procedure rules (Trooper Bazoo vs DDT/Trooper/Return) Thats a lotta Half LifePoint Plays right there
But once thats over I wait a bit for final standings. I am hoping anything past 32 cause 16-32 get 6 packs wile 33-64 get 2
So yeah I came in 30th.. I had a bye one round tis y I am a bit low for x-2s but I really dont care.
I see Carl he gets 33 lol I get my 6 packs and leave CJ left with my Zaborg and other good stuff… and I dont go to his local weekly =(
So I will be playing without Mirror Force for like a month may just run my Chain Stuff =/
But yeah in 6 packs I pull a Dark World Dealings, Hummingbird, Ultimate Fusion Devourer and Ultimate Frostosaurus Not great but 4 Holos 6 packs

In conclusion: If you have luck and wont get nailed by Reaper and face Horus Chain Burn is still a really solid deck. Even with people siding Decree it can be good. Main Decree is the problem The people I told where shocked I went 6-2 with Chain Burn I recall after the tourney watching Paul Clarke take apart his Emon netdeck with his Card Troopers and such after going x-4
10 Dollar Deck > 3 50 Dollar Card Trooper decks =D
