    OLA! I tried to SR for a ShinyCharmander but it was taking too long so I decided to simply take a good Charmander and train him. These are his stats...

    Charmander/Male-Level 6
    Nature: SASSY
    HP-21
    Attack-13
    Defense-11
    Sp.Atk- 13
    Sp.Def- 13
    Speed- 11

    So I wanted to EV train him but I need places and Pokemon. I need a nice and strong Charizard! Remember, I just started and haven't even left the Lab yet :P

    Assuming this is for Fire Red, then you should be running Hasty or Naive Nature. Sassy Nature is just Ew.

    Sassy= +Special Defense, - Speed, which is why it's ew.
    Hasty= +Speed, -Defense
    Naive= +Speed, -Special Defense I think.

    Fine then. Rash or Mild Nature.
    Honestly, I don't see why you think cutting Speed is a good thing.

    ahh NO!! I hate how Charmander is speedy! I want him to have a strong sp. att and lower speed! how about quirky?
    well, what's the point of coming to these forums and ask for advice if you're not going to listen?

    Here's the thing. charizard is extremely fragile with horrible defense and sp.defense, so it's not going to be able to take hits well. stone edge and t-bolt are two of the most common attacks, not to mention surf as well. it's basically a OHKO when it's hit by a super effective attack every time.

    That said, charizard has decent att, pretty good sp.att, and good speed. Its movepool is pretty good also. The best way to use a charizard is to make it outspeed other pokemon and take them out before they can take him out.

    That's why hasty and naive are both good natures on it. Modest is as well if you put max ev's in speed, as is adamant. Timid, Jolly are other options. Never ever use a nature that benefits its defense or hinders its speed because charizard loses its effectiveness that way. I mean it's never going to be able to take more than 2 hits even if you try to focus on its defense, that's just how fragile it is.

    ahh true say...see? Instead of simply TELLING me what to do, c_dog has indicated why I should. Tyvm and I will now reset my game :) So now another question..which is the ABSOLUTE best nature for Charmander than doesn't hinder it's Sp.Atk?

    The absolute best nature? Like C Dog said, you need speed, so Hasty.

    Hasty or Naive. My personal pick would be Hasty.
    EDIT: Quoted the wrong post ><
