I really dont understand the breeding to give moves things so i need some help.
I have learned that you can breed a psyduck(which is my fav pokemon) to learn hypnosis and psychic. Can anyone tell me how?

you just have to check the egg moves to see if a move is available there. Breeding can pass on moves through 3 different ways...

    a) if the father has a move that the child will eventually learn by levels, then it'll be passed on
    b) if the father has a TM move that the child can learn, it'll be passed on
    c) if the father has an egg move that the child can learn, it'll be passed on

So it's pretty easy actually... the egg move part you'll just have to check sources online to see what they are.

Yeah, I looked on pokemon elite and it said golduck can learn hypnosis and psychic as an egg move. SO all i have to do is find the fatrher with those moves?...but who?

Psyduck/Golduck exists in a pretty large list of those it can breed with. Your best bet is to level up a male Spinda to learn Hypnosis (I assume this is Ruby/Sapphire) and breed with a female Psyduck/Golduck. Spinda can also learn Psychic as a TM, so letting it learn both and then breeding will pass both moves to the baby Psyduck.

This is why I suggested a breeding forum to PPNSteve. I knew there's be questions like this

lol... once every month yeah XD

PC is stuck in a very weird place... either you're off to NB already, or you're at the level of "Fly is such a good move! And I mean in battling!" We're lacking the in-betweens who would be the ones in need of such a forum.

I guess not everyone has the chance to play against a human player with their GBA squad. I know I didn't for a long time, hence why I'm only learning about strategies on NB that have been going around for years.

I still think having a dedicated forum for breeding is a good idea, cos it might encourage more questions about it, and perhaps encourage GBA vs GBA battles. Perhaps not to the same competitive level as NetBattle for example, but getting close to that. There's definately a lot to be said about breeding, and it's a neglected area of the game that I'd like to see a lot more discussion on.

I'll even nominate myself to moderate the forum. If it doesn't work after a month or two, you can close it down, but I would definately like to try and encourage more breeding questions

Thanks for the generosity that everyone else offers once a day, first of all.

Secondly, how does breeding affect battling? Though breeding is an important way to get your hands on some of the must-have moves, it really doesn't affect battling. If you aren't talking about NB, RL battles will either happen, or never happen. It all depends on if there are other players within the neighbourhood.

Breeding is neglected because it's pretty much sums down to
-Whatever move you want on the baby, stick it on a father who's in the same egg group as the mother. The baby will be the same Pokemon as the mother. Ditto is a little different because the baby will be whatever the other parent is. The end.

That's pretty much all there possibly can be to breeding. All that's left is finding out what's the breeding chain, but that's also taken cared of by Meowth's excellent Pokedex as well (it's just click click click on there. If you are too lazy to hit a few clicks on Meowth's site, you may not deserve to have the attack...)

Sarcasm much? Besides I was offering to mod the site, because I didn't want anyone else to waste time on a possibly fruitless effort. And it's something I have done before, so it's not just like an 'I wanna be a mod cos I can abuse the power' kind of thing.

Somewhat answered your own question here. Of course, breeding in itself doesnt' affect battling, but it does allow for perhaps those moves you want, nature, and possibly even IV. And yes, if you do have regular matches with people locally, won't you want a way to get one up on your opponents?

Ok, nicely summed up, but people might not know all this. Like I said, it's a neglected area, and because it isn't commonly talked about, people may not know about it.

Yeah, perhaps using the Meowth's site would help, but I'd rather offer a hands on approach (hence why I've offered myself to do the job). I could actually post to describe a breeding chain to people. I wouldn't offer to do it if I wasn't prepared to make an effort, after all, and I do like to genuinely help people wherever I can.

I think a breeding forum is a good idea

I only like raising pokemon from eggs anyway, and i'm sure there's lots
I dunno about the breeding, I do it a lot so i'm gettin' kinda good at it
    but yeah...breeding forum, GOOD idea
'cuz I think there's still lots of people who don't quite get it...me included.
    so please consider it
