2nd Gen Building on Friendship?

I'm trying to evolve my Eevee into an Espeon before it reaches LV 16. (So it can learn confusion) I've only gotten as far as Olivine City, so what all can I do to build up friendship and such? I've groomed it once at the salon, given it a rare candy, let it hold a berry, and have kept it in my part since it hatched. It's at LV 12 right now. What can I do and how much should I do to get it to be an Espeon before it reaches 16?

The thing is, Friendship Evolution isn't just about maxing out a Pokemon's happiness. There is also 1 more factor before it evolves into an Espeon. It must evolve at night.
To max out it's happiness is pretty hard if you don't do it the right way. This is my tip on what to do.

Go to the salon (When it is available) It only costs around $500 and get it's hair cut. Check with the lady next to the flower shop (I think...) Wait until she sees that your Eevee is very happy with you. Go and train it up until Lvl16.

If i also recall... when i got my Espeon on Crystal it evolved at around the high 30's or low 40's. So Just see if maxing it's happiness works or you have to wait until the high 30's or low 40's. Or I think you could just use a moon stone. :P but it has been ages since i last played it.

Actually, Espeon evolves during the day. umbreon is at night. but close enough.

Bersek, Nop a moon stone doesn't work and you're mixing up espeon with umbreon.

-If you have stuff life Protein, Carbos.. they raise happiness a lot.
-Always check with the lady in goldenrod to see how much your pokemon loves you.
-Groom it everyday.
