Oof that sounds like good news, however does this mean that D3 gets delayed by a year just like D2 did cause of reworking the game now that they are free of Activision?

    Honestly wouldn't mind that personally.

An "industry shaking divorce" indeed. You can tell that was written by Kotaku even without the source link.

This can be nothing but a good thing, considering how Activision poison everything they touch. Maybe Bungie stand a chance of actually making a playable video game now. Maybe.

Saw it right when it was official. Still in disbelief tbh, with how acti pretty much slanted their dealings with bungo so they'd get the IP.

All that's left to see is if any Bungle magic is left or if the company is dead or corrupted... I don't expect any real changes until d3 if any.

This also means Bungie no longer has a scapegoat when shit hits the fan. I have high doubts Bungie still have it in them with all the stories going loose about Bungie themselves messing up D2.

    I want to believe tho

I'm in the same boat as you Ty. I hate what you see when any game goes wrong. "Oh the publisher this and the publisher that". It's not always just the pub, and I think that Bungo is a prime example!

What I'd ideally see is that they get rid of the "new game every so often" and build upon D2 (or D3, idk D2 might be beyond saving) , since this whole bringing tons of D1 exotics and now certain legendaries back to the game kinda makes me lean more to the one big game with expansions added to it, sorta like World of Warcraft.

Dunno if anyone else here agrees with me, but this is what I'd love to see the direction to take for Bungie to make Destiny a good experience.

that and having the infamous holy trinity of D1 hand cannons return almost before D3 makes me sad

Most likely thing to happen is D3 since its in production already and D2 has the "Activision stench" as I will call it for now even though in reality it's pretty minimal, but fans like to use Acti as the scapegoat so ye..

Not to mention the cash injection they got from some Chinese company to make a non-Destiny game, this might come into play later on aswell

Yeah I don't think that's fully an "Activision" stench myself. Half of it is modern bungie as well, imo. I don't play any of this "the dev is almost always forced to be bad" game.

I also think D3 will be where they put most of their effort after they deliver on the roadmap for 2 and any other stuff that had been negotiated with Acti

Some things I hope for aside from the obvious:

    - Better patrol zones: Aka actual open worlds, even if they're mini ones. Why is every open space in destiny a ring comprised of tiny little spaces connected by curved corridors that only serve to be corridors? And put some damn life in the patrol zones too

-RPG elements: I think the game would be more interesting if it leaned into this stuff more myself. Not necessarily hard stats for everything, but some stats would be interesting as well as things like companions (for SP players).

-A bigger focus on us Solo players, cause I struggle to get a team together. I've still never even done a raid!

I want more D1 than D2 elements tbh in D3, considering D2 has always felt like a downgrade apart from storytelling which well lets be real, can't get worse than D1 lmao.

    My wishes would be:
    - Subclass customization like in D1 or better, D2 was just be locked in a certain tree and you cant customize it, D2 downgraded HARD on this.
    - way better infusion system, because the current one is complete and proper arse.
    - remove the goddamn flinch because it renders you useless as soon as you get hit (ESPECIALLY with snipers)
