I am planning on getting Cacture, but can't decide on a moveset. Here's mine

    Cacture@ITEM UNSURE
    Nature:???
    Seed Bomb
    Sucker Punch
    Cotton Spore
    Brick Break
    EV:???

Awful, I know. A little help?

This I know for sure, use faint attack.

I would give insight, but my advice probably wouldn't be any better. Cacturne has the defenses of sharpedo, and the speed of steelix...I'm stuck.

cacturne is very popular with choice band. CB suckerpunch is so popular and REALLY stings anything that thinks it's gonna sweep. instead of cotton spore, i'd go with thunderpunch so it's a good gyara counter, and if you can't get a tpunch cacturne, then a special attack like focus blast or energy ball is always an option to surprise physical walls.

you could also forget CB and go with Focus Sash + Swords Dance. a few people pull that combination. can be effective, but ice shard and mach punch hit it with no prob.

there is also a Subpunch option as well.

Faint attack saved me in the resort area.

the where? All that matters is competitive battling. If you had to be "saved" ingame, you probably need some help. Go do some research, that would help, boo.

    Cacturne @ Focus Sash
    Adamant Nature
    EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
    - Swords Dance
    - Sucker Punch
    - Counter
    - Seed Bomb

If you are at full health, Counter can be a nasty surprise against other physical sweepers. Focus Sash grants you a turn to use Swords Dance. Even when its HP is low, the use of Sucker Punch still makes Cacturne a threat. Prediction is highly required when using this set.

    Cacturne @ Leftovers
    Naughty / Rash Nature
    EVs: 154 HP / 252 Sp.Atk / 102 Atk
    - Substitute
    - Focus Punch
    - Leech Seed / Sucker Punch
    - Hidden Power Electric / Fire

Subpuncher. HP Fire / Electric is something to handle Skarmory with, which Cacturne wouldn't really have any other useful options to use. Leech Seed helps Cacturne survive for more turns, Sucker Punch deals damage against opponents that are faster.

    Cacturne @:Leftovers
    Trait: Sand Veil
    Adamant/Modest Nature
    Substitute
    Focus Punch
    Leech Seed/Spikes/Sucker Punch
Counter/Hidden Power Flying. Hidden Power flying, with Modest Nature, it counters it's brutal weakness, Heracross and others with Close Combat. Revenge I guess, is another option. Also, the Resort Area, is in the North East Area of Sinnoh. There is also the Ribbon Society there. https://www.serebii.net/diamondpearl/resort.shtml

Ah, thanks guys. I never would have thought of these sets.

Why must UU pokes have to have bad movepools? That, in turn, makes us clueless on what moves to teach them without the experience. But then again, that's why they surprise people. With their own unique moveset. Mine was, in a way, like that. Because Novelty set's are somewhat surprising.
