[PokeCommunity.com] Call of Duty WW2 Beta impressions

So i played the Call of Duty: WW2 beta that just ended today and i would like to give out my own first hand impressions of what ive experienced so far. While i s**t on PS4 a lot, im actually a PS4 owner so i guess you can call me a hypocrite but oh wait letd just start with the good parts.

Im not gunna lie, i did enjoy CODWW2 mainly for the things it does do right:

    - weapon sounds are very punchy. The gun sounds actually feel quite powerful and they actually punch your ears in a good way. Some weapons in particular like the STG and the Tommy gun sounded really effective and spoiler, i just mentioned two of some the best guns in the beta.

    - Divisions is actually pretty easy to adjust to and it makes your class perk choices feel more meaningful unlike say in Pick 10 were you just picked the best perks and attachments for your primary and nothing else.

    - graphics looked... okay in CoD standards. Visual feedback actually felt decent with bullets and projectiles flying in and out.

    - Map Callouts. One of the good things they kept from Infinite Warfare. Map callouts are badically the names of the map's areas and it felt good knowing the exact names of spots in the maps like in Ardennes, Point du Hac, and such. This is actually going to be great on modes such ad Search where map knowledge is key.

    - Unlike the past games, they actually managed to implement a Double barreled shotgun that isnt utter crap or built for trolling like the BROlympia from BLOPS. In fact, the DBS with Rifled barrel is actually quite potent.

    - x4 scope which is the WW2 acog is actually amazing and viable. ACOG sights in pretty much all of the cod games have been clunky pieces of crap mainly due to the wonky idle sway and in some cases the increased ADS time but in COdww2 miraclously it did not carry over past ACOG traits.

Now its not all good in the good, the, bad, and the butt ugly in said game. In fact, i discussed about the issues i found not too long ago but let me just reiterate them here.

-- Now not hating on War, i do think its a nice addition to the game, eveb though its basically a budget version of Battlefield's Operations and with an Overwatch esque payload segment which makes snese because Activision-Blizzard is a thing. BUT War is only good with players who actually play the objective and not just sweat out for some kill feeds or clips. Also 6v6 only? Ground War was 8v8 and that was just TDM or Domination with 4 extra players.

-- more on War -> the big problem on War that some people dont talk about is that YOU DO NOT GET ANY POINTS or something for your Score while being on the objective. When people figured that out, essentially War was treated as TDM with down syndrome. When players dont feel that they get the incentive for doing an objective, it makes sense to them that they should just go for more kills and dont bother with the damn payload. In other games that have objectives, players are actually awarded with some points or scores.

-- SMGS are too PWRFUL. Ive talked about this not too long ago but given the maps we all had to play in, we basically got maps that catered to SMGS quite a lot. Not to mention, every SMG except the grease gun shreds which is a thing, but really. War doesn't count BTW since everyone devolves into a monkey in that mode from how it was implemented on the beta. Hopefully on release we get more maps that cater to mire playstyles other than rushing in with SMGs like a bunch of your typical COD bonobos for the past 6-7 years.

-- GOD DAMN CHARACTERS CANT SHUT THE HELL UP. Seriously of all the Cods i played by far, this has to win the award of the most talkative characters in a multiplayer game. If you soundwhore very well with your turtle beaches and other expensive gaming headsets, hell even on a pair of Beats by Dr. Dre, you can hear a guy or a gal talking loudly. It can get anyone killed because their in-game character cant shut up for teo seconds. Ive scored kills by randomly hearing some bru or grill call out "reloading" and dropped them. Its frustrating when it happrns to you. Im reloading and i get spotted because the other player heard my in game character talk.

-- BLACK FEMALE NAZIS - you can have a character like that. It may not be much of a flaw for most people but some of the more picky people feel that the immersive factor in playing some WW2 is distracted when you hear a BLACK FEMALE NAZI in game. Its hilarious but at the same time ugly.

-- WEAPONS R TOO HYPER ACCURAET. Thats right. Anyone who has played any of the older CODs know that the weapons in those games had both visual and actual recoil patterns that players needed to adjust to in order to git guud at. But in WW2 many of the weapons felt way too damn accurate to the point that you swear you arent using an aimbot. Many weapons didnt have too much recoil do it was easy for everyone to look good. Remember World at War? That game actually had both visual and actual recoil in their weapons and it was easy to see who were good at that game (NOT YOU MP40).

Now for what i like to call the WTF category, this is basicslly where im undecided if its okay or not.

++ STG44 is your WW2 ACR. - low recoil, good fire rate, VERY LITTLE spread. This thing is a monster and its what ive used throughout the beta and i was quite pleased but at the same tome terrified. The STG is what ive used to basically shred all those boosted bonobos with their SMGs albeit i still needed to be far away from them. Now ive pointed out that its kinda bad that almost every weapon in CoDWW2 feels too hyper accurate, but i do love the STG44 in this game. I have a biased nober for the STG44 and i was hoping that this weapon was a vast improvement from how it was from World at War, but i felt that this stg44 is overtuned. Some kick would be nice. We do not need a world war 2 ACR but i like to have the stg44 still be good on release.

THATS MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS. LET ME KNOW IF TOU AGREE. I wont hold back in arguing or mooting some of your points if i have to.

You beat me to it. I blame me being ill throught the beta weeks for my inability to play.

However im quite terrified of the STG being the ACR of WW2. Seeing some of the youtubers and hearing word from other friends i know also got me spooked. Im hoping that the other upcoming full auto ARs are just as competitive as the STG. Id be slightly mad if i get into a lobby full of ACR i meant STG44 Trihards.

Also im still hoping for that PC beta but i doubt that will ever arrive. Its already september and they have Zombies and the Single player campaign, AND the Supply Drops to develop.
