Question: Can Mods/Admins move posts?

Well this can be done by merging posts or threads. Admins and Supermods can do it for sure, but mods may not be allowed since they are restricted to one or two single forum.

Quite possibly yes. I do believe that mods and admins have power to merge any number of posts together, as long as they are in the same thread. But I don't think they'd do so just for any reason.

As far as moving a single post to another thread...It might be possible to do with the thread merge tool, but most mods will usually delete the post altogether anyways if it doesn't fit the topic

Yep. I can merge copy move or delete any post in my forum. It isn't common to move just one post to another thread though. Usually individual posts are moved when a part of a conversation goes offtopic in that thread, but fits in another thread. It doesn't happen often, but it's possible.

I don't think anyone could have said it better, but a mod itself :) Also, a mod can open back an old thread such as a FanFiction if asked by the original poster.

Mods, super mods, and admins can move posts, but sometimes it is inadvisable for several reasons.

Say I start a thread on the Pokemon Hall of Fame Forums. There is 500 posts about them. Then someone else decides to make a thread on the same topic, but during that time, 5 more posts were made in the older thread. The post in the new thread are moved to the old thread, but the string or flow of the thread is lost because all posts are sorted by date when they were made.
