Can You guys help me. Do you think I need a physical sweeper?

    Mild Nature--Speed and Sp. Attack

    Gastrodon lvl 54-->Spf Defense, SP Attack and speed.
    Gentle Nature

    -RainDance
    -Surf
    -Earthquake
    -Recover

    Flygon lvl 55----->Physical attack, Physical defense, and speed.
    Naive Nature

    -DragonClaw
    -Dragonbreath---->Earthquake
    -Fly
    -Screech


    I came up with strategies for double battles in competitive play.I don't have wi-fi but i hope to get it soon.

    First 2 pokemon. Gastrodon and Ampharos
    ->Gastrodon uses RainDance
    ->Ampharos uses light screen
    ->Gastrodon uses surf(It wont do much dmg to ampharos anyway)
    ->Ampharos uses ChargeBeam until Sp Atk increases 2-3x.
    ->Ampharos uses Thunder. Selected pokemon faints.
    Or.
    Ampharos uses Discharge. Gastrodon is unaffected.

    Ampharos dies.

    ->Sent out Flygon
    -> Flygon uses Fly
    ->Gastrodon uses surf

    or

    Flygon uses screech
    Gastrodon uses earthquake.



    What you think. Any1 know how to EV or IV train my pokemon. i read guides but I can't understand what is being said.

    Your goals are totally unrealistic. Amphy and Gastrodon can't last 6 turns, ask anybody. All your team is, is sweepers. It really doesn't revolve around any strategy. I suggest reading some team building guides so you can incorperate, walls, tanks, BPers, and other roles into your team.
     
    I did want to make a build, I was thinking more of moveset strategies, since I'm so good at it. ^_^ As expected not good strategies arent they, considering i havent been competetive battling before, except in pokemon sapphire. Can any1 show me how EV's IV's and EQ's work? I read guides, but i dont get what they are saying. I jjust wanna know how to use my stat calc i just got.

    I want to increase Gastrodon's Speed and Special Defense
    Ampharos's speed and physical defense
    Lucario's Defense and Special Defense.
    Flygon's Attack and physical defense
    Roserade's Special attack and Physical Defense.

    This may sound unlrealistic as well, but according to some guys they said its possible.

    i'm not very good. I thought strategy is what counts.

    nonononononononononononononononononononononono. Why are you increasing Lucario's defenses? It's a sweeper...Flygon wants speed and attack EVs, make it a CBer. Really, the EV guides are simple to understand. Read through them carefully and you'll get it. Amphy is slow, no need to boost a bad stat, give it special attack EVs...please. Roserade needs speed, not defenses...here, there is a pretty helpful guide on gameFAQs that got me started. Google "blastoise tank moveset" and it is a team building guide on gamefaqs. Not trying to advertise, it was just a big help early on for me. You'll see EVed pokemon. Just ignore the movesets since they are third gen, but it explains EVs and all that stuff. Or you could just use PC's guide...

    EDIT: Your strategy is flawed. Amphy won't stick aroung 6 turns, and making sweepers walls isn't what I'd call strategy...

    It is. But strategies can be flawed.
    Are you looking at this as a Double Battle team, APCW13?
     
    Yes I am. Amphy cvan't use charge beam 2-3 times and then launch thunder to OHKO ONE opponent, it would have fainted. I doubt even blissey could endure hits for 5 turns (assuming they're physical). EQ is THE most common move in the game. It 2HKOs amphy in double battles, and hurts gastrodon as well. And fly and surf are BOTH made of fail in double battles...I mean really.

    Electivire@Expert Belt
    Motor Drive
    Lonely Nature
    EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 6 Special Attack
    ~Cross Chop
    ~EQ
    ~Ice Punch
    ~Thunderbolt

    A great physical sweeper, though that is actually mixed b/c of Skarm. Mostly physical, hope you get my point.
     
    Itachi, neither links work.^_^ Thanks, So all i have to do is kill a certain pokemon to get an EV? That's it. I just thought some of my pokemon need defense because they die so easily. If it's the same pokemon but different location would that make any difference at all?

    All right finally got this working now. go.

    But physical sweeper, you ask?

    -Ou physical sweeper

    Heracross @:Choice Band
    Trait: Guts
    Adamant Nature
    Pursuit
    Stone Edge
    Megahorn
    Close Combat. Works well.

    Changes in bold for those two. If u have a lonely lucario Close Combat is a must since it ups attack. Breed reflect onto Ampharos to up def. while they switch to an EQer and u can survive at least 1 EQ.

    I didnt know sweepers are supposed to die easily. ^_^.

    Well, you need to post you team, preferably in this format:

    Pokemon@Item**Nickname
    Trait: Trait the pokemon has, like intimidate
    Pokemon's nature
    EVs: pokemon's planned EV spread
    -move 1
    -move 2
    -move 3
    -move 4

    This is what you plan on having, not what you have now. Then we can help your team out.

    I don't find the nickname, too important. But it's just if he prefers so.
     
    Yeah, I should mention that the nickname and optional stuff like that is well...optional. But yes, a posted team would help.
