I just opened Pokemon Go for the first time. Not sure if I'm in training mode or not.

I clicked on sign up with Google account and it didn't ask me for account information, just opened it; may have used info on machine, not sure. I started with the data and cached emptied and it asked me the four permission questions as for a new account.

I set up my Avatar - the first time. I don't get asked to set it up again despite stopping Pokemon and emptying the data and cache.

I dressed the Avatar but was never asked to set up a name.

The trainer appeared and told me to take some balls he gave me and catch a Pokemon.

Now I'm on a screen with a green map of the immediate vicinity of my house, my avatar, and 3 Pokemons, and NO BALLS. There also are NO ICONS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SCREEN - such as the ball.

I can't get this error to come up in Google or a Pokemon guide.

There is no way to back up or to get past the screen.

I tried running in reduced screen mode where the app doesn't take up the entire screen, made no difference . The entire screen is displaying; just tihngs that should be displaying aren't there.

Since it doesn't ask me for account info nor tell me what it is I don't know what email account I tried to use last night finally worked! All last night it wouldn't authenticate. Trying a club account didn't authenticate either.

I've tried both the birth date I used for the club account and the correct birth date I used for all of my efforts to log in wit hGoogle.

    What do I do?

True - I didn't. My housemate confirms that you have to hit the Pokemon before you see the ball at the bottom of the screen and you can throw it at the Pokemon.

Trainer failed to mention that. Everything I've read said balls are there and you throw them at the Pokemon. In fact , when I last tried this app about a month ago on my tablet, the ball was just there!

But why didn't you explain it to me instead of telling me about balls you already knew weren't there?
