Cards before battling

Hey everyone,
I have been trying to figure out what the cards were called that you could buy before the original cards the had pokemon HP and attacks on them. The cards were thick, almost cardboard like. They had a picture of the pokemon on the front and i cant remember what was on the back. I had these cards before i ever had battling cards, and when i got the battling cards the old ones were obsolete. if anyone can give me more information on what they were called or where i can find some info about them please help me out. Thank you!

Regarding "help" threads

If you want to ask about a certain Pokémon related image, a pronunciation lesson, or anything that doesn't require that much discussion or debate, then don't create a thread. Instead, just use your local search engine like Google and you should find your answers easily and quickly.

That being said, you might want to check out the Pokemon TCG section, they might be more likely to have information on it if you can't find the right result on Google.
