4th Gen charmander in platinum

hello:) I stopped playing pokemon at sapphire version and now i'm trying to get back into it.I have been doing quite the studying the last few days !:D I do have some questions i was hoping someone could answer before i buy new pokemon games.

1)can i get charmander or any other kanto starter from soul silver(after getting it after winning the 16 badges) to platinum through trade or migration at the beginning of the game?(Before getting the national pokedex)

2)do i need 2 game boys/nintendo's to do the migration thing?

To get a kanto/hoenn starter you need all 16 badges and to have beaten red. if you then visit professor oak and you can choose an kanto and if you visit steven stone in silph co you can get a hoenn.

you can only get 1 of each so to get the others you'd have to trade with other people. i believe you can only migrate once you have the national dex unless trading from someone who already has the pokemon

however it's something else i need to know.What i am asking is if i can somehow get a charmander in the platinum version early in the game.Let's say i already got it from professor oak in soulsilver.Can i trade it/migrate it to platinum early?like,before the second badge?

You can't migrate until you've beaten the game. However, you can trade it from your SS game to Platinum after you beat your first gym. I believe. (though you would need an extra DS)

To answer your question, you can trade over Charmander from SoulSilver into Platinum early in the game. There is no National Dex limitation that will prevent you from doing so. Once you have the ability to trade between games, you're free to trade over your Charmander into Platinum.
