Clash of the Companions - Ellie vs. Elizabeth [Week 23]

THE GREAT CHARACTER COMPANION CLASH!

Welcome back to the GCC! For those of you who are new to this, the rules are simple - every week, we pit two characters against each other, and your task is to choose your favorite of the pair, and tell us why!

Here's who we've covered so far:

Mario vs. Sonic
Peach vs. Zelda
Samus vs. Megaman
Ratchet & Clank vs. Jak & Daxter
Sans vs. Papyrus
Tracer vs. Scout
Luigi vs. Tails
Crash vs. Spyro
Nathan Drake vs. Lara Croft
Ganon vs. Bowser
Doom Guy vs. Duke Nukem vs. Serious Sam
Raiden vs. Genji
Mr. Resetti vs. Navi
Ryu & Ken vs. Scorpion & Sub-Zero
Link vs. Cloud
Kratos vs. Asura
E3 Special - Sony vs. Microsoft vs. Nintendo
E3 Special - Ubisoft vs. Bethesda vs. EA

Now, onto this week: behind each of the gruff male protagonists of Bioshock Infinite and The Last of Us stands a snarky, fierce lady ready to take on the world. These girls have quite a bit in common and they're both arguably quite central to the plots of their respective games.

But who is your companion of choice?

ELLIE (THE LAST OF US)

Despite being only 14 (in the original game, at least - certainly looks older in what we've seen of the sequel's trailer), Ellie is pretty fearless and brave, and her sarcasm and love of puns is a welcome distraction in this otherwise bleak world. Joel's initially tasked with protecting her, but she's come through several times and saved him, too.

ELIZABETH (BIOSHOCK INFINITE)

BioShock Infinite's Elizabeth is a pretty charming companion too - although she can be a bit naive at times, there's no denying that she's also quite witty and intelligent. As her powers grow, she matures as well, and learning about her complex backstory certainly helps make her one of the more iconic deuteragonists in gaming.

I think it's a pretty tough choice, but let us know who is your favorite, and why! Who was the better companion gameplay-wise? Who will win in a fist fight? Whose lines were wittier? Who were you more attached to? Compare them any way you like, but here's a few ideas to get you started. :)
