6th Gen Collectors becoming battlers?

Hey folks,

I've been a pokémon player since RBY, but the last time I actually took part in the tournament scene was abooooout the same time, I managed to beat the Nintendo Official Magazine Pokémaster & won myself a legit Gen1 Mew. Good times.

I've now completed my National Dex though & want to start battling, but having looked into it it's SO complex!! So many strategies & standard pokémon types such as your SubPoisonGliscor or DarkVoidSmeagle, it's just so intimidating for someone who's not battled for a long time. :P

I've got an idea for a (doomed to lose) first team to try out though & want to know if other people are in the same boat or have advice for people who are genuinely stumped when it comes to competitive battling.

You'd be better off asking this question in Battle Center. We've got a few expert competitive players over there, so someone must be able to help. :] Good luck!
