That didn't work did it? Anyways, welcome to my first introduction on the website. My name is David. I joined some odd years ago simply downloading rom hacks and playing them on my phone. It was all fun and games ( no pun intended) until I actually wanted to start making them myself. Now I'm here with a small arsenal of programs and nearly no knowledge of where to start. I have so many questions to this whole thing. For instance 1. Is scripting the same for all games not just pokemon? 2. Is there a different name for it outside of the pokecommunity? I have a couple of ideas for rom hacks at the moment. I have a story or background for one at the moment partially written. The other is simply in my mind waiting for it to be put into words and then game. I would truly love it if someone would be able to answer any questions I had. I'm not asking for how tos but instead I'm looking for pointers and guidance. I'd like to learn on my own as much as possible. Sadly with so many tutorials out there and so many questions that I have I'd hate to flood the forums trying to figure them all out. I was going to use emerald as my base rom ( i believe that's what i would call it). But I've seen that firered is supposedly easier to deal with. And when I tried to play in emerald somehow I got rid of the ( warp tiles?) and was stuck inside of the moving truck in the very beginning. Lucky me right? lol Anyways thank you all for reading.
