I'm on a mission right now to fill that stupid ary museum in lillycove. I was doing great - I have 3 paintings up already (beauty=Milotic, cute=Lilleep, cool=Sceptile), but now the artist seems not to want to paint anymore!!! I went through all the trouble of winning the tough and smart master classes (Jynx and Xatu respectively), but when I came out of the contest room, my friendly artist wasn't waiting there to give me ribbon5 and show my his latest extreme work of art ;)

    Any suggestions??

I don't know, I think I got mine with a Blaziken and Gardevoir for those two contests. I don't remember what exactly influences him to paint pictures, but it wouldn't hurt to max out your Pokemon's attribute too much.

They are maxed to the MAX!! I'll just have to try with a different pokemon - I go on holiday tomorrow, I have the time to waste...
(there's me on the beach with GBA cursing at a stupid artist who won't paint my portrait...LOL)

Lol, did you think about googling it? You might find the answer there. I actually got every portrait done on my first try, so I don't know how hard it is to get the right Pokemon.

I think it matters how much points you can score. I've won the Master Rank contests for all five categories, but I noticed that the artist didn't make a super painting of my pokemon if I didn't score enough appeal points.

Also, if you saved after winning the master rank contests with your Jynx and/or Xatu already, then you can't try again for the painting, because that pokemon already won the contest once before. If that's the case, then you'll unfortunately need to get new pokemon for those two categories.

If it helps, I got the Tough painting with an Azumarill that could use Double-Edge, Rain Dance, and Waterfall, and I got the Smart painting with a Kirlia that could use Destiny Bond (breed with Wobbuffet), and two other psychic type moves (I think one was Future Sight).

I hope this helps you on your quest.

That happened to be before... What I did was view the paintings the artist drew up then speak to the artist and then I enter the contest. That increased my chance of success but I think aaronburnsyou is right, it depends on the number of appeal.
