Could an old sea map work today?

So i was recently thinking about buying some of the pokemon emerald codes online (old sea map specifically) and i was wondering due to the lack of information on the wiki. Could the old sea map still work? Because since emerald didnt have wifi it couldnt check if it had been used or expired. So would it work
