Your dad, Jason, is part of a huge groups of Pokemon technicians living in a small town, Riviera Town. As part of this group, your dad and you have had to move many times, but he says that you should be staying in Riviera Town for quite a while. They have set up several labs in the region, hoping to learn and discover more Pokemon. Jason's boss is Professor Sereen, she is a mother who has dedicated most of her life to searching for new Pokemon. Her daughter, Joan, is a spunky teenage girl about your age, she's also your neighbour and has an Eevee. With the big move and building of the old and new labs, your dad has been away from Riviera Town for about a month. You've been staying at home with Professor Sereen, helping her with her research to pass the time.

Your dad is comming home from Lykanten City tomorrow, where he has been setting up the last, and biggest laboratory in the region. A phone call arrives and Joan informs you that Sereen would like to see both of you. Joan quickly runs ahead, leaving you behind. You quickly grab your backpack and begin running towards the base lab. Boxes and crates are laying everywhere, due to the move, and Sereen's messiness. Upon entering the lab, you realize that Professor Sereen is standing next to a table, with your dad! You run up to him and give him a big hug. Sorry to break up the moment, Sereen turns your attention to the table which is currently home to three small Pokeballs. She begins to tell you about Team Rocket.

While your dad was in Lykanten City, he had noticed numerous members of Team Rocket lurking around. Deciding that he must hurry and finish with the laboratory, he ignored them and continued at his work. It was the day before he left, that he remembered they were still in the city, mainly because a top-secret package was reported stolen from the labs safe. The reason why he was already back today, and not tomorrow, is due to the fact that Sereen called him because she decided that it was time for you to get your first Pokemon.

You look about, amazed at the harsh information about Team Rocket. Just to remember that Dad was home to give you your Pokemon! Professor Sereen tells you that you must pick one of the Pokemon in order to help your dad defeat Team Rocket to obtain the top-secret package. Small plaques are laid in front of each of the Pokeballs. Larvitar, Beldum, and Dratini! "Starter_Pkmn" You have decided to pick "Starter_Pkmn", and Sereen tells you that your journey to defeat Team Rocket is begining, and gives you a bag of 5 Pokeballs. You're journey has started...

You set out on your journey, taking practice by battling gyms (five) on the way. You meet lots of new people and Pokemon, hoping to become a great trainer. Meeting up with Joan on the way, aswell as your dad, you're preparing for the final battle against Team Rocket.
