3rd Gen Defeating Jerachi with max stats

My friend has a Jerachi with max stats, so I challenge him with my 2 Mews, Butterfree, and Altaria while he just uses his Jerachi and Charizard.

I defeat his Charizard with a couple of Ice Beams from my Mew, and it faints. Finally, he sends out his Jirachi, kills my Mew, and I send out Butterfree, and use sleep powder, amazingly it worked and was now asleep.

So I send out Altaria, and use PERISH SONG! since he doesn't have any other pokemon to switch with. Then he wakes up and I stall untill I win. :)

Then he gave me the $10 for the bet.

EDIT: Before Razzie comes after me, was the Jirachi's stats maxxed as in "999" or just the max for Jirachii?

As in 999 for every stat.
