I posted a link to a website in the Computers forum under a topic called "Facebook Charging rumors"... my post was more than 25 characters with me saying it isn't true + the link.... obviously it was enough characters in the post to allow the post to go through!!! it didn't stop me and error out and say it was too short.... but a moderator named 'Went' deleted it and put the reason "Character Limit Bypass" why did she delete it and WTH does "Character Limit Bypass" mean? obviously it doesn't mean it is too short, because the post went through.... so, my conclusion is (and why I marked this under 'feedback') that my post was deleted for a reason that is falsely given
this is twice now the moderator named "Went' has deleted something for a false reason.... :(

It all depends on the moderator's judgement when it comes to the rules. Went thought that the post was trying to bypass the limit, because the message itself (excluding link) was under the 25 character limit, thus breaking the rules and being deleted.

It's a good idea to expand on your thought and explain more thoroughly than just posting a link and a small statement to go with it.

Just to add to what Alternative said. Your post in the "Facebook is charging" thread didn't contribute to the discussion at all really so Went may have had a second reason to delete your post and, assuming there's a limited space for reasons for deleting messages, couldn't put this other reason in. However I can't say that's fact since I haven't seen the moderation settings for a vBulletin forum.

    Straight from the Forum Rules:

"All posts are required to have 4 words or more. The community has a physical 25-character limit to each post."

So, while you may have met the required 25 characters for your post to go through (because of the link, which is sort of like a filler), your only words were "not true." Hence why Went ─ who is not a she ─ removed your post.

You could have just PMed him about it btw.
