Destiny's Scarf – [PG 13]​

Plot: A Mother Gypsy sits at a campfire, surrounded by a group of younglings. She quiets down their chattering, before throwing some shriveled herbs into the fire that creates a thick, blue smoke. Several of the children cough, and the Gypsy's face appears out of the gloom. In a deep murmur she tells a fabled story;

"According to legend, long before man became civilized, one being was charged with keeping the humans from destroying the balance of nature. This being was called Lady Destiny, who knitted out the scarves of human destiny. My grandmother herself told me how each stitch held the destiny of one person, and if it wasn't for Lady Destiny the world would fall apart, just like a jumper with a loose thread." At this point the children gasp, and lean closer to the fire. The Mother Gypsy continues her story, talking in a low, almost whispered voice; "Each stitch was a different colour, and by looking at that colour, you could see how that person's destiny would turn out. And most could be controlled by Lady Destiny. Sadly, there were some stitches that could not be controlled by Lady Destiny's own powers. There were people who controlled their own destiny, and those people were enlisted as champions by Lady Destiny through a series of tests.

"There were some, though, others who refused to serve her and wanted to use their powers to take control of the world. Lady Destiny's champions would be forced to challenge the rouges who tried to take over the world. One of the most famous of these conflicts is when Gold battled a grief stricken Pryce. Even now, in the men's golden age, we are still controlled by the destinies that Lady Destiny knits out." At this point the fire flickers out and everything fades to black, though you can still see the glint of Mother Gypsy's eyes as she whispers out, "And if she didn't keep up her work, then you can be sure that we wouldn't be here to serve her."

Lady Destiny truly does exist, and you are one of the few who control their own destiny. Therefore, your life has always seemed to have bigger challenges then those of your neighbors, yet somehow, you survive these challenges. Then you, along with your one pokemon, receive a letter asking you to go to the first of the Sevii Islands, signed by the mysterious Lady herself. It explains that you are a stitch that is not within her power, and that you are to be enlisted as her champions. How will you respond? Will you bravely face your new situation or cowardly stumble through? Either way, you must be ready for anything, as your destiny is uncontrollable...


Details: This is a chapter roleplay, and your characters will not interact unless it specifies so in the chapter. Please post your SUs in the OOC thread by Perfectmonster. Perfectmonster is the co-owner of this roleplay. The setting is 2010 and the towns and cities are unchanged except for little house hold additions like an auto cooker, self heating blankets, and fancy TVs. Also, the battle frontier has been mostly unchanged, though many believe that Spenser may soon leave this world.

Also, I have provided a SU and a link that shows the bare minimum of what I expect in SUs. Use them!
If you want to interact with another person's character, you can ask permission from me and Perfectmonster, and then, if you have permission, do a joint post for the interaction. Though you would only interact in that one chapter.
Feel free to reference other characters. An example is when you challenge a gym leader and they mention that they had in fact been defeated earlier that day.
In ten days I will look over the submitted SUs and the best SUs will get the spot they wanted. If there is a SU that just barely misses the region they want, and I know that they would be assured another region, I will PM them and ask if they want that region instead of the one they lost.
You can reserve, but after three days you will lose your reservation. If a certain region is reserved, it just means that judging for that region will be postponed if needed. It is best come, best served. So there is no point in reserving unless it is the last two days before judging.

Open Spots
There are five spots open, four for the four main regions, then a wildcard for any region in the games.

Spot one- Kanto (Fire Starter)

Spot three- Hoenn (Grass Starter)
Spot four- Sinnoh (Electric Starter)
Spot five- Wild Card (It can be a region from either the Colosseum or the Ranger games. Flying Starter.)

Pokemon: (Each trainer will have a different type of Pokemon according to which region they come from. It can be any Pokemon, but it has to be that type and evolve at least once. Make sure you describe the pokemon's personality and mention their gender.)

((Here's the first chapter!))

The sun shined down through the leafy foliage of Ilex forest, and a purple smoke rose into the air, undisturbed by any winds. There you could see the strong figure of Mother Gypsy. "Shhh," she whispered and the children gathered around the campfire quieted down. Mother Gypsy took a deep breath, the lines on her face giving her age away. She then turned towards the children, her jade green eyes glinting in the sunlight. Even with the strong sunlight, the forest was cold, and the children were glad that they could huddle around the campfire. Then Mother Gypsy's voice broke through the heavy silence, saying "I shall soon join my grand parents and parents, and then I will have to choose a successor." The children all gasped, intrigued by Mother Gypsy's words, though one young girl jumped up, saying "No, you can't leave us!" Mother Gypsy smiled as her young grand niece cried out with a passion. There were no tears, though her eyes glinted with a determined fire. Mother Gypsy rose one finger, saying "Calm down little one, for I shall pass on one story, and then I shall name my successor."

Mother Gypsy took a deep breath, and then took a small herb, throwing it into the fire to create a heavy green smoke. Her voice then flitted through the smoke, saying, "An old lady rocked back and forth in her old fashioned cottage outside of Vermillion City. The old woman sat in a rocking chair as she knitted brilliantly colored scarves that shimmered in the light. That woman was Lady Destany, who kept the world in order by knitting out everyone's destiny. Sadly, there were a few lose stitches, who had the ability to control their own destiny. These were the people that Lady Destany recruited to be the Champions of Destany. It was they who helped carry out Lady Destany's errands, helping her control the balance of the universe." Mother Gypsy continued on in a steady voice, saying "One day Lady Destany set down her knitting, dialing an old fashioned phone, and gave the command to "Send the letters."

Dear trainer,

I send this request for you to come to the entrance of Diglett's cave in Vermillion City.
I urgently require your help, and I ask that you come and face my request, and myself;

Lady Destany.

P.S. Expect to be led to my house from the entrance to Diglett's cave. I bid you a safe journey, no matter what Destany throws at you.

You travel to the entrance of Diglett's cave, where you find an older man dressed in jeans and a button up, cotton shirt. He requests a battle and asks to see your letter from Lady Destany, in a Solaceon Town country drawl of course. You assume that he is to lead you to Lady Destany's house, but first you must face his female nidoran in a battle. At the end of the battle you spot what looks suspiciously like a rather large crobat flitting through the clouds.

Randal's was born into poverty in the city of RustBoro. At the age of five, he goes inside the petalberg woods and finds a shroomish, after deciding not to eat it, he takes it home, and kept it as a pet. At the age of 10, when he was able to become a trainer, he decided to register into the Hoenn league with his shroomish, which he had named, Cappy.

Being unable to register, he goes to the Kanto region in order to train. He steals a boat from "Old man Briny" and heads off to Vermillion Harbor. There he goes to the Pokemon center to take a rest.

Personality:

Randal, because he is poor, must steal in order to obtain things. He usually has a good temperament, and only does things when he has to. He acts kindly to any living thing, no matter what it is, because he has no choice but to. He is only angered when he ever is assumed for something, and he hasn't done anything, and usually solves it by battling his accuser to a Pokemon battle, usually three on one, because he's only one Pokemon; shroomish.

Randal has tanned skin, covered in dirt. He has poor hygiene because he doesn't brush, or even afford a tooth brush. His hair is jet-black and frizzy. His eyes are a dark blue color, showing omen.

He wears a torn navy-blue T-shirt, and jeans which are torn on the knees. He wears a leather belt, which looks almost too big for him, which carries a nest ball containing his shroomish. Dirt covers his cloth, and the cloth sack he carries on his back, which is tied around his shoulders with a short rope.

The S.S. Aqua had finally docked at the Vermillion city harbor, and Paige was very eager to find who was waiting for her at Diglett's Cave. "That sure was some cruise, don't you think, Shelly?" Paige asked, reffering to a Thunderstorm that had happened during Paige's cruise. "I'm just glad that our boat didn't sink!" She exclaimed. "Horsea!" The little sea horse cried in reply to Paige's question. "Now, let's get to that cave." Paige and Shelly got off of the S.S. Aqua, and headed for Diglett's cave.

Once she arrived, she found an old man waiting for her. "Ahh, there you are!" He said to Paige. "I've been waiting for you," he continued, "now, show me your letter from Lady Destiny." Paige took out the letter that she had recieved, and handed it to the man. "Mhm... mhm... Perfect! Now, battle me!" He shouted, throwing out a pokeball, with a female nidoran emerging from it. Paige was rather surprised. "B-battle... you? Ok, Shelly, are you ready?" Shelly nodded. "Ok, you can make the first move."

"Don't mind if I do! Nidoran, use Scratch!" The Nidoran lunged towards Shelly, getting its claws ready to attack. "Ok, Shelly, dodge quickly, and then use Bubble!" Shelly did as she was told, and then use Smokescreen to blind it, then use Aurora Beam!" Shelly let out lots of ink from her snout, that made a puffy cloud to surround the nidoran. Then, Shelly shot out an Aurora Beam attack that was a direct hit. "Good job! Now, use Bubble." Paige commanded. Shelly obeyed, and used Bubble. The Nidoran was hit again, because it couldn't see a thing. "Nidoran, you've got to get out of the smoke, and then use Double Kick!" Nidoran managed to escape the smoke, and hit Shelly hard with Double Kick. "Shelly, are you ok? Use Bubble, again!" Shelly got up from the ground and used Bubble, but the Nidoran had dodged, and hit Shelly again with Scratch. "Shelly, no! Please get up!" Paige shouted. "Nidoran, finish this with Double Kick!" The Nidoran ran towards Shelly, getting ready to hit Shelly. "Shelly, jump up, please!" Shelly suddenly got up, and jumped up. "Great! Now, use a combo of Bubble and Aurora Beam!" Shelly used both of these attacks and hit the Nidoran, causing it to faint. "Yes! Good job, Shelly!" Paige cheered. "Horsea! Horsea!"

"Well done." The man said, putting the Nidoran back into it's pokeball. "Now, I need you to follow me..." The man started walking towards Vermillion city.

Be sure to describe attacks your pokemon or the opponet uses. How you describe them is entirely up to you, but do describe moves that are used. An example; "The growlithe got into an attacking stance, and started a low growling, releasing a smoking ball of flame towards the opponet. The attack was an ember, used to weaken the opponet and put them on the defensive." Wala! I just made up an ember attack. For a bubble; "The horsea took a deep breath, her body comicly expanding, before releasing a tream round, water projectiles. These bubbbles made thier way towards the opponet, making a direct hit.

P.S., I didn't mean for Timothy to be old, old, I meant older as in "in his thirties."
