    I tried to catch a level 19 Murkrow last night. Its HP was in the red. But it took me 5 Dusk Balls, 6 Great Balls and 4 Ultra balls before I started tossing plain Pokéballs at it. And I just couldn't catch it. It also nearly took out a level 22 Umbreon in the process. So I had to use a Super Potion as well.

    Needless to say, that was pretty frustrating. I've fought legendaries that were easier to catch.

    So, any stories from D/P about your own unusually awkward captures?
     
    Well, people always complain about legendaries and ROTOM being hard to catch. Well, I wasted around 50 Ultra Balls on an Azelf in the red but a full HP Rotom and Clefairy went in on the 1st Ultra Ball. No HP reduced.
     
    I was catching some Ditto last night...They're really difficult to catch! I wasted 20 ultraballs on it, then finally caught it with a plain Poke Ball ¬_¬
     
    My friend caught a Palkia in one Dusk Ball, unweakened lol
    and I've had maaany awkward not-catches.
    It seems so often that the opposing legendary will kill itself with struggle before it'll let itself be captured =(

    Wow, Rotom was pretty easy for me =| and I normally only catch the titular legendary with a Master Ball because I'm lazy like that ;D
     
    My game refuses to catch heatran in any way shape or form. It just doesnt stay in, even after if false swipped it down to one and double statused itl. It would have probably escaped from a masterball if i tried :P
     
    Since I've been playing Pokemon Ranger I'm too confident about my capturing skills, but actually I never had real problems with capturing any pokemon. Just captured Kyogre withing 5 minutes in Saphire
     
    well 1 rotom was pretty easy for me...lol
    i caught dialga with full health, with a quick ball hehe was pretty happy
    but heatran use me 30 to 40 dusk balls T.T
     
    Wow, just by reading all of your guys' poke'mon capturing stories, I got a story for you. Once, I just started a poke'mon pearl/diamond and I wasted nearly 150 Ultra Balls trying to catch an Absol.
     
    Yeah, I spent alot money for those ultra balls, I was sapose to buy to catch numerous types of poke'mon but instead, I caught one single Absol.
     
    i do try to capture them in a basic pokeball, they just look better than ultraballs (actually the premier ball looks the coolest)
     
    What i thaught was hard

    Well other than the lake pokemon that can use uproar i find random pokemon like murkrow hard to catch i once found a misdraves and could not catch it when it was 1 hp and paralysed

    At the beginning of D/P, it took me more than 23 PokeBalls to catch a Starly.
    I failed. :P

    Oh, and while this one is not in D/P, it was in Ruby and it is a similar story.
    It took me more than 14 Ultra Balls, 5 Great Balls and 12 PokeBalls to catch an Absol. I got so frustrated in the end that I ended up using my MasterBall on it.
     
    Giratina is the only Pokemon I've had to waste over 40 ultra balls. Well I still haven't caught it yet. I put it to like 10 hp and used up over 40 ultra balls when it started struggling and killed itself. Good thing I saved the game right in front of it.

    I think the males are harder to catch. I wasted all 41 of my Ultra balls on it, closed my DS, opened it and threw 41` and still couldn't catch it on like 20-50 HP. Then i ran out of the cave and came back. it was female and the 1st time I fainted it. 2nd time on my first Ultra Ball it was captured.

    CG:Ye, I told you he was hard to catch. What happened to "Professional Pokemon Catcher"?
     
    I caught mewtwo in Fire Red with a Great ball,
    and Dialga with only 5 Ultra balls.
    I only used 12!

    ditto are quite easy actually, just make them transform into something with a very high catch rate. then slowly take down its HP, then put it to sleep, and bang :)

    rotom werent hard, neither were the pixies (am i the only person who found mesprit the easiest to catch out of all the ledgendaries o.0, excluding master ball)

    the only one so far i have had a REAL problem catching was regigigas, he is a beast to catch, even after 40 or so turns, and red HP he still wouldnt go in the damn timer ball!
