What are the main differences? im tired of people on other sites saying there is no point in buying the game because its the same exact thing, so I wanna give them info proving that there wrong, can any of you guys help?

People saying there's no point in buying it because it's no different? The hell? Every nostalgic fanboy here is complaining that it isn't exactly the same as GS. >>

on other sites there saying no point in buying, im buying the game because i loved the original

I think that there's going to be quite a lot of differences. We've already seen that there are going to be some changes to the storyline (such as the Kimono Girls playing an important role and Team Rocket having extra executives),and the Johto map has been changed around quite a bit.

To be honest, these remakes seem more like a "director's cut" of the original Gold and Silver games, rather faithful recreations like Fire Red and Leaf Green were.

Oooh a '"director's cut". I like thinking of it like that.

Main reason to buy these though? Finally having easier access to Gen II Pokemon with current devices. At least for me anyhow...

Its obviously different. Thee are over 200 pokemon we now have access to that you didnt whn GS was out. Thats a start. Not to mention wifi capabilities.

I hold the idea that if you're buying this, you're buying just another Pokémon game. Maybe there are some who absolutely love the nostalgia factor and they can buy this - and they'll love it. With these games though, the target demographic isn't the people who've played G/S anyway - those guys come second. Those who haven't played get a "new game".

Good way to put it Hiroshi. Think about it its been 6/7 years since G/S? So a TON more pokemon fans are around and some never even heard of Johto (My god, that should be against the law!)

its been more than that almost 10 years

Weren't you a little young to be playing these games at four? I got yellow for my 9th birthday, and I didn't have anyreal idea of how to really play the game.

Lol you didn't? I didn't really know how to read all that fast but when I was about 4 and a half I beat the elite 4. Then when I was about 5 I got pokemon yellow. It was easy. Also when I was 3 I helped my 6 year old brother beat pokemon blue Lol!

It has new graphics and a deeper plot.

Even if It was just like Gold and Silver besides the graphics why wouldn't you get it? Updated graphics just make the game imo.

This year will actually mark the 10th year anniversary of Pokémon Gold & Silver for Japan, and next year will mark the 10th year for the US. I remember the year it came out...how I miss the original so... but, I've been playing the original on my PSP, getting myself pumped up for the release of HG/SS, even if it isn't coming out until spring of next year.

One of the big...well, big for me, things that I'm looking forward to (unless Nintendo has opted not to do it anymore) is having your Pokémon follow you. That, and I hope the PokéWalker is released in the US. Can't wait!

 Well, it was a good number of years ago for you, so we don't expect you to remember the exact year. In my opinion, though, it has to be the best in the Pokémon series, which is why, I think, everyone is making a big deal about there being a remake for it. Remember when the remake for Red & Blue came out? Wasn't a very big deal. But Gold & Silver, on the other hand...yeah... The proof is, as they say, in the pudding. lol

plus the physical special attack split now my red gyarados will be 5x better

If memory serves me right, Crystal was released a few months after G/S, so it wasn't until 2001 that it was released.
