Suggestion: Disabling your own User Customizations

I like this idea. I usually remove my entire customization when I just want to view my profile the way it's supposed to look in a particular style, which isn't a good reason to remove it, I guess. But I eventually put it back up when I feel like I want to see it again. Setting it so that you can't view any customizations - even your own - is something I'd most certainly take advantage of.

disable someone else then your is disabled too :P

Nope, you can disable every other user's profile customizations, but not your own.

I actually like the idea. I know there are times when I may be on the vergeofo wanting to make a new theme for my profile and want to view my profile as it is in default settings for some time, but risk the chance of losing my current theme. So, I personally think a little addition to hide your own profile customizations would be a neat implement if possible.

I would think there are tons of reasons one may want to do this too, for whatever reasons those may be.

I know it seems dumb to hide your personal theme, but I seem to have run into a circumstance that requires it. If you look at my lovely Seed Bby profile theme on a DSi or Wii browser, it is completely mangled, and make it extremely difficult to read new VMs because the text is condensed to the point that it could be from one word per line to a fragment of a word per a line. Would it be possible to implement a setting to disable your own theme, while keeping it, or is it that there is one, but I don't see it?

Ok, first and foremost your big problem is the McPadding. Lose the McPadding. :<

Honestly that option really ought to be removed IMO. :<

Even though McPadding can be annoying for some members, there are still many who like the formatting. So that being said, it shouldn't be a reason why the idea couldn't be implemented nor a reason why he should remove the McPadding from his profile.

No, My reasoning behind this is not only because some people find it annoying, but it does not render correctly on all browsers. I feel as if they should fix the issue or trash the feature. :/

Either way, the problem isn't about McPadding but implementing the option for users to disable their own customization.

Yes to being able to disable your own settings, no to scrapping McPadding. Just because it doesn't show up nice for some browsers doesn't mean the whole feature should die. Just my take on it though.

McPadding isn't the issue here. Everyone else shouldn't have to miss out on customization options just because a few don't like it.

That being said, I think the option to disable your own customizations makes sense, plus you can make changes and test other features out without totally scrapping your curent theme, thus saving a lot of time and effort.

Although I wouldn't personally use this feature, I think it would be useful.
I never access PC on a mobile device, since I always have a computer to hand, aren't I sad.

However, in the intrest of making PC more user friendly, it would be a nice edition.

Heckyes, to being able to hide our own customizations.

I don't agree with the padding being taken away, though.

Well I still think they should either fix the padding on other browsers or do away with it. Since that's the feature at fault, I find it tacky to patch this problem with another feature. :/

It's probably not even a difficult fix, you can detect browsers and serve up different flavors of McPadding based on that where it's formatted in a way the browser can understand, or simply disable the McPadding property on unsupported browsers via detection and leave a message. :<

    ^ Juuuust keep in mind that this topic wasn't made to single out the McPadding. D;
