Many times when people ask questions on certain threads (specifically in the ROM Hacking section), their questions could have easily been answered had they simply read the thread's FAQ first. It would save the thread owners and commenters a lot of time if there was some way to link the FAQ to the thread, to allow the commenter to see it before asking a question. This could be implemented in multiple ways:
- Display the FAQ above the comment section.
- Run a semantic analysis tool to compare the new comment to a question in the FAQ. If the new comment is similar, redirect the commenter to a new page showing them the similar question, and then asking them to confirm their post.
- Allow the commenter to classify their comment as a "question" and then redirect them to a page with the FAQ if they choose this classification.
I'm sure their are better ways to handle this, but those are what came to my mind.
