4th Gen !!! Do u need a laptop and Broadband to use wi-fi !!!

No you don't. If you have a a Wireless Router that works with your DS, or the Nintendo USB Connector, you should be able to even play D/P over dial-up.

Also, this is being discussed in the WiFi thread to an enormous amount, so please referr to that thread for further discussions.
