Do you keep your team full?

Do you keep your party full at all times, with six Pokémon, and just switch out when you find one you like better? Or, do you keep a small team, and only focus on the ones you know you want to keep throughout the whole game?

I tend to like to carry as few as possible, right now my team only has four members, two of which I will probably drop after I beat the current gym I'm on. My planned team, which I hope to have by the time I get to the Elite Four, only has five members in it. (It's a Ghost-type team).

I was curious. Do you only keep what you want? Do you like to fill all six slots? Do you just let them fill up as you go? Do share. :D

I usually only keep a few with me (I only had 3 before I beat the elite 4, Tropius, Kadabra and Girafarig.) Since I beat the E4 there wasn't much to do except train Pokemon, so I have six with me right now.
I will probably start out with six in Soul Silver because I plan to breed my current team and trade the newly hatched Pokemon to myself. I'm proud of my team, I don't want to give them up. :P

I usually keep a full team of six with me except when geting ready to trade or breed. For that reason, I don't have a proper "HM Slave" and those moves are spread out over my team of six. They give you six slots for Pokemon; I say, "Might as well use 'em all."

I usually have six, but I've run teams with only 2-5 before. It just depends on what I feel like raising or if I want to challenge myself.

Yes when i'm wandering through wilderness and stuff I keep one in front to train, 1 as my plane to get around, and the other 4 are my "pickup pokemon" to find items.

I found this strategy works best in Ruby/Sapphire/maybe lfgrn and frred too because the chance of finding rare candies is 10%, which is why after importing I have almost 20 in my Platinum. :D

Yup. I like having six pokes in my party at all times.

I always have my team full. It feels much better knowing you cant possibly lose while walking around with 6 powerful pokemon. :)

It's always a full house for me, I only ever have less when I'm getting an event Pokemon that requires it.

I keep it full... Seriously I would go crazy witout a full team:C I can't handle not abusing poke power:D

Depends on what's going on at the time, really. If I'm rushing through the game, I'll keep a small team so they each get a larger percentage of the experience points. But usually I will have a team of 6 if I'm taking the game seriously. Lol, sometimes I wish I could keep 8 at a time so that I'd have enough room for two HM slaves, but w/e.

i keep mine full always, especially if i am catching pokemon

It's an OCD thing for me to always have my party full with the exception of just starting out. It's also an OCD thing for me to always have my starter and my favorite Pokémon, Raichu, if I get one. XD

I always plan which pokemon I want to get ahead of time. So once I obtain all six they stay till the end. Unless one of them ends up being terrible and I trade it out for something else. Still, thats only happened a few times.

Agreed. I NEVER, NEVER teach my good team HMs though, minus fly or surf because they're actually useful in battle. It's rather cumbersome to have to switch at a pokemon center for an HM slave while I'm playing through, but it pays off in the long run because I don't have to deal with having crappy moves on my team.

It depends. At the moment I only have two Pokémon on my team, a level 90-something Victreebel and a Natu I recently caught. I'll probably put more on there eventually but for now just those two. It really just depends on what you feel like. Like before I played through the game with just Bellsprout I had always had six Pokémon on my team wherever possible, but now it just doesn't seem as important.

Me too, so I end up having to visit the PC box often to pick up my HM slaves, or deposit them :/ The only two HMs I use on a good pokemon are Surf and Waterfall, since they are actually very good moves.

........I kinda wish HMs where inherent abilities to certain pokemon; meaning once you are allowed to surf, you can use any water pokemon to travel across water without having to teach it a move. I'm tired of having to juggle HM slaves. It was somewhat okay back in the old days b/c there were only 5 HMs, and you never really use Flash except for a few places, so one HM slave would do. Now there's 8 HMs o_O

VERY good idea there. But I guess that would eliminate the awesome HM moves just to get rid of the crap ones.
