    life orb takes effect when an attack misses?

    like lets say someone puts up protect, and the try to hit, does the life orb still do damage or is it something that only happens when the attack hits?

    Also the same question with a healing move, ie. a starmie with life orb using recovery... does it still do damage?

    Im not a user of life orb, so i have no clue. I was just curious.
     
    Nope, life orb acts as recoil from any other move. You have to hit to be hit (If that makes sense)
