Alright, the only way anyone would KNOW the answer to this question is to be one of the programmers, so basically the best this thread can hope to accomplish is anecdotal evidence and assumption, I get that!
Anyway, once upon a time long ago I posted a rant where I was breeding some pokemon (can't remember which) and it was ALWAYS missing SP Def no matter what, then I was breeding my Roselia and after 800 or so eggs, I had only gotten a modest one 7 times in that whole time, the nature I ended up getting the most often was Adamant which was the nature of my Ditto (I needed to use a Rose Incense to get the Budew which is why couldnt't use the Everstone), but when I swapped out my Admaant Ditto with a Modest Ditto, out of 60 eggs I ended up getting 6 that were modest, and often times when I am breeding the IV spread I get is most often the IV spread of the parent pokemon I put in the daycare (so if the Ditto is 6IV and the parent I placed in Daycare was missing Def, then most often I would get offspring that were also missing defence) well this all came to a head today while I was breeding Drifloon and out of the 40 I bred over the last few days, 39 of them were ALL missing Speed. Or more exactly, all 39 of them were getting it's parent's missing Speed IV. Sometimes it was missing another stat ofcourse, but sometimes it was getting all 5IVs at 31 except Speed.
So, experienced breeders, what do you think? I understand the whole premise is that things are supposed to be randomized, but for those of you that breed hundreds or thousands of eggs, do you actually think it's random, or have you also seen anecdotal evidence that breeding with a ditto might actually reproduce it's partner more often than not?
