[Question] Does XSE work with pokémon emerald?

    Hello, new to rom hacking, you know the deal already. I have been using advance map on pokémon emerald and opening XSE to try and change some scripts. It dosen't work. I have been following the Fire Red tutorials on Youtube to try and do very simple things I want for my game (Example: Allowing national dex at the start) but it won't work the same, obviously. I have found through these forums that you have to do some weird decompiling thing with other programs and tool. Can't I just use XSE for this stuff? The amount of things I want to change are minimal and I don't want to download Notepad++ or whatever to do so.

    Also I have a dumb baby brain and don't understand anything so please answer me like I am a toddler.
